I like being active, even as I'm getting older. Since my 40th birthday last month, I've gone stand-up paddling in Monterey Bay with harbor seals, helped put on a 4th of July event at Fort Irwin, Kayaked and snorkeled on Lake Tahoe, hiked in the mountains, saw the White Buffalo in concert, done a museum tour in LA, and hit up Venice Beach. Before the end of the year I hope to see Sequoia, King's Canyon, The Grand Canyon (to visit my ranger buddy), Joshua Tree, Wyoming (to see my cousin), Salt Lake City, Mammoth, Big Bear, a couple weddings in South Carolina, go pig hunting around Big Sur and learn a bit more about horses. If things work out right, a lot of the winter will be spent on a snowboard up north. As you can see, I'm a serious outdoor guy, rock climber, hiker, backpacker, kayaker, raft guide, mountain biker, crappy skier, bad hunter, worse fisherman but I still like the finer things like great food (Thai, Lebanese or Sushi anyone?), a good concert or show, museums, warm earthy red wines, handcrafted beers, dark chocolate, fat rare steaks, tapas, great movies, good music, cuddling on the couch and lots and lots of stimulating conversation.
Traits I'm looking for in a friend and partner:
LOYAL. honest. fun loving. sharing. caring. good hearted. Not too selfish but knows what she wants and not afraid to ask or work for it. Willingness to try new things, seek out adventure or just lay in bed and make shadow puppets on the ceiling on a rainy gray day. Laughter and a sense of humor.

I have been a single father of three for 11 years . My time is spent raising my kids, which is tough these days. Down to one at home at this point. Yah!! But as any parent knows this can change at anytime, got to love them, we created them.
I can hold my own in the kitchen as well as the BBQ. I am an animal lover who is down to 1 great dane at the moment, depending on what ever the kidlets "find". Other than cooking I enjoy golfing (when I can find the time), camping.
Spring is baseball, I'm at or on the field almost every day, either watching my son play or umpiring games. Now my daughter roped me into coaching, again. "Thanks child"

A whole new outlook has evolved in the dating arena. I want to thank many of you who have taken the time to view and respond to my profile. This website has provided a clear direct means to find who I am looking for, but I have not found the right person yet. A trusting positive personality, good character, and energy make a compatible connection happen. It's easy to bounce from one person to another searching along this path. I’m looking, trying, and hoping to find that special person who compliments my enthusiasm and zest in life, but using caution; people are not always who they say they are. It takes patience waiting for the right person, but I'm confident she's out there.
Originally, I wanted to stay with the mainstream ideas in who I was looking for by having fun, going new places, meeting new people, and allowing myself time to kick around, relax, and let adventures happen. The time I give does make a difference in someone else's life and has surprisingly surpassed everything I ever wanted for myself. Now being a little more selfish in what I want to achieve in the near future, I am a high energy type person and push myself in directions that most people only dream of. Life starts outdoors with a paradise of adventures to be had. I am a master diver that found a breathless form of natural beauty, as a guest in the ocean environment. This has allowed me to explore many tropical waters of the world. Wow! There are many others activities I enjoy also; off road interests such as four-wheeling, quad-riding, hiking, exploring, caving, mountain climbing, snow skiing, and experiencing the natural wonders of this world. I am into classic cars too. There are still many areas left to try, hot air ballooning, white-water rafting, zip-lining and looking for and experiencing other types of physical activities that hold a level of excitement. I don't want you to think I am looking for a woman that is a star athlete; I'd just like to know you enjoy the outdoors to some extent and like to enjoy life in general. I have a place and time for your interest as well.
Presently I have begun a regimen of training (this past January) with swimming, biking, and running for a half Ironman Tri-athlete event I will compete in next month in Carlsbad, California. I could use the cheering support of anyone who has an interest in that type of event. If you like action type photography, all the better, since there will be a lot of action to catch.
