My name is Austin and I just moved to Colorado a month ago. Prior to moving here I visited once to snowboard at the resorts. It was love at first sight. Now I live here and have enjoyed every minute of it. It's nice to be so near the mountains and not also in a war zone. I spent the majority of last year in the mountains of Afghanistan and I'll definitely admit I like the Rockies a lot more than the Hindu Kush.
I really enjoy food and love to cook. Finding new restaurants, especially ethnic foods, is something I thoroughly enjoy. I also enjoy trying new recipes and just dining in. Discovering new coffee shops and nice places to grab a drink is also a great time. Given the choice between a locally owned business and a large national chain, I'll definitely go for local. Thankfully, Chipotle was started here so I can pretend like it's a local restaurant.
This year I really got into snowboarding even though it was a pretty terrible winter for the resorts. If you've ever skied or ridden Midwest snow then you know that crappy Colorado snow is still infinitely better than Midwest ice. Getting a military discount is pretty awesome and has allowed me to turn almost every weekend into a snowboarding weekend. I'm also really excited for summer here as it definitely seems there's a lot of activities to be enjoyed. The weather is starting to be pretty amazing so I'm looking forward to getting my bicycle out here so I can start logging some serious miles on the Cherry Creek Trail. I've already signed myself up for a couple of triathlons and a half marathon later on this year so there's plenty of motivation to get out and enjoy the weather.

As far as what I'm looking for, I'm just searching for somebody to enjoy Colorado with as I discover all the awesomeness that it has to offer.
