Date single boy from Santa Maria, United States. I don't really even really know what I'm supposed to put here but apparently it has to be at least 200 characters long and with good grammar and not have links or contact info so I will adhere to this policy by writing a nice long run on sentence that I'm willing to bet will NOT come up as a sentence with bad grammar if you were to insert it into something like Microsoft Word and then run a spell check on it because for whatever reason using transitional words instead of punctuation usually lets you get away with performing such tasks. Did I ever mention that I kind of have a bit of a sense of humor? Well, I do. Look at that... Burned through over 700 characters without actually ever saying anything, neat huh?
Hi, I'm Charles. Most of my friends call me Charles, although I've picked up a few random nicknames along the way. My family calls me Charlie. Both my friends and my family sometimes call me Chuckles and my 'friends' from the 'net check out my FACE like an open BOOK since they know me as Chucklesas if you know what I mean; picking up what I'm putting down; catching what I'm throwing; lathering what I'm dispensing, rinse and repeat. Yeah, I don't get it either.
Some stuff about me... I'm 29 years old. I have a job, a car, my own place... I know what you're thinking, "Marry me now!" That's just the start of it, just think how much more you'll like me once you actually get to know about me. I like to think I'm pretty gosh darn amazing, but I may be a little biased :-p
I like going out and doing stuff with my friends (restaurants, sports bars, clubs, bars -I prefer being DD and don't much care for the taste of alcohol-, movies, bowling, running), going to the dog park and beach with my dogs, working on cars, and playing with various musical instruments.
I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. I'm in the AF doing engineering stuff, at least that's what my job title says. Although, it's really more of a program management position for launching rockets. I've just started on my Master of Aeronautical Science degree with Embry Riddle, so guess that makes me a college student again. I eventually want to be an astronaut, but I hope to avoid the whole love triangle and diapers thing (is this reference too old now?).
I would say I am intelligent/smart, funny/witty, considerate/compassionate... yeah, as I was typing those I realized they were pretty much synonyms, but they are giving me 4000 characters to use... I need to fill this space up with something.
I'm the type of person who wants to know as much as I can about the things I am passionate about, this applies to the people who enter my life as well. I'm sometimes shy when I first meet with people, but put me at a podium in front of a large audience of my peers and strangers and I won't have too much difficulty speaking to them.
I moved to CA at the end of the summer 2010 and still haven't really found my niche here. While living in OK I was pretty active participating in community service type events various organizations. Some of the things I did included tutoring children and voluntering with the Central OK Humane Society by fostering dogs and cats to stop them from getting euthanized at the shelter. I also ran adoption outreaches and helped with animal health assessments at the shelter. I've done a little volunteer work here: helped with special olympics, science fairs, highway clean-ups... still looking for other opportunities.
I think a good match for me would be someone who's smart, funny, witty, sarcastic,a little goofy, compassionate, faithful, outgoing... not perfect, just perfect for me. Someone to explore the area with and enjoy the many outdoor activities that the central coast has to offer. There are many things I want to try out, but I'm not really comfortable doing them by myself. Oh, and communication is key for me as I'm very open and honest and would expect the same in return.
