I spend a lot of my free time in San Francisco checking out the latest restaurants, bars, or museums that seem to open nearly every day. I spend as much as my time on the weekends outside, whether is a sunny afternoon in the Mission or a trip out to Marin, the Peninsula, or camping. I really appreciate beer in the way that most love wine. I suppose growing up in the Napa Valley gave me an appreciation for alcohol; I just took it down a different path.
I read a lot of books and am probably the worst guy ever at movie quotes. I never know what "it comes from", so it always just sounds awkward and forced when someone whips out a quote.
I'm a really active person and do a lot of running, swimming and enjoy rock climbing. To me, it's more about being outdoors and exploring on your feet than it is exercising. Hiking, unless it's an amazing location with waterfall mist or Jurassic era jungles, makes everything move by a bit to slowly, though, so I'd rather be jogging.
I consider myself to be a happy and extremely optimistic person and look for the same features in friends and relationships. I'm hoping to find a girl with strong ideals who appreciates old-fashioned values. A nice smile is great, too.

I am one of those people who lives my life by what I am truly passionate about and what interests me. I received my teaching credential in May 2010 and have been working on finding my own full time position since. In the fall I am planning I am planning on going back to grad school to focus on language/literacy. I have always had an interest in reading and writing so this would be a natural step forward for me.
When I am not busy I like to keep active physically, mentally and socially. Some activities Im into are - exercising, water sports and pretty much anything outdoors. I love hiking and have been on several backpacking trips in my life. When I was 18 I went on a NOLS expedition which inspired my love of the outdoors. So I'm a lifelong Bay Area resident, and have been living in the city for the past 3 years in my little nook up on Telegraph Hill with my pug Buster. I love SF and exploring all that the city has to offer - really couldn't ask for anything more...(Ok we could have a few more 70 degree days...just sayin')
I'm probably more of a laid back person as far as my personality goes, but I am driven to live my life to the fullest and value everyone who comes into my life - even if they are people who I don't find myself being particularly attracted to. I love being outdoors and trying new things, and care most that I'm around people I love. I'm always wanting to be in situations where I can laugh, learn, and explore. I will most likely try anything at least once, and really want to experience as many things and visit as many new places as possible. I love to travel and to learn about new cultures and their history, so anytime you can put me in a place with beautiful scenery and a long rich history, I'm a happy camper.
