Date a boy from United States. I guess I'm here because trying to meet someone the 'normal' way just doesn't seem to work anymore. Going to a bar full of drunks and trying to have an intellectual conversation just doesn't work, and going to a club to have any kind of conversation is just about impossible without yelling in someone's ear. Other than that there aren't a whole lot of social places that don't involve alcohol and raucous music so here's to giving something new a try.
I'm about as honest as they come, I know it's hard to believe that coming from an online dating site but it is what it is. I don't have a reason to lie about anything in my life, I might keep some things to myself if I don't feel comfortable talking about them but for everything else it's an open book. I've always abhorred drama and anyone who's wrapped up with what other people say about this or that, life is simple and it should be fun. I like going out, meeting people that are interesting, and having a real conversation with real people. I'm pretty quick when it comes to jokes and making people laugh but terrible at starting a conversation from thin air, especially sitting in front of a computer.
I'm pretty sarcastic and love to joke around and that's just me. Sometimes my humor is inappropriate, most of the time it's respectful, and yes...sometime things sound funnier in my head than they do when I say it. But hey, it's better than not saying anything at all. After all, life's too short to be serious all the time, or to be scared of taking a chance.
Music is another huge thing. I'm constantly listening to music when I'm doing work, going for a ride, taking a nap, taking a shower or just lounging about wondering what to listen to. You'll be hard pressed to find a genre that I don't enjoy, except maybe polka...but I'm working on it. Just not very hard.
Books! I used to stay up at night when I was a kid and read under my blanket with a flashlight so I wouldn't get caught. I'm pretty sure I spent more time with my nose in a book than I did in front of the television...(which is probably why I've never seen the Godfather series...or Scarface...Star Wars...but I saw Pulp Fiction recently! That should count for something.) Watership Down is one of my favorites from when I was a kid. I got into Stephen King for a while which is pretty good. Philip Pullman, good stuff. I don't really stay up to date with trending books, just things here and there that I find. Lately I've been digging around some psychology books and some old classics like The Count of Monte Cristo.
The rest is waiting on you to be found out. I know I have plenty to offer; whether it be comedic wit, deep conversations, or just plain old banter at the bar there's plenty yet to be discovered. And if I'm just not your type, no worries. Life goes on and I know I'm well worth it. :)
