Date people from Arkansas, United States. It was June fourth, 2008. The cloudless skies let the full effect of its heat bear down on my back as I started the bike. I said goodbye to my friends after work and rolled out to enjoy a short ride before picking up my then wife. Before I could even make it half way to get her a Chevy Suburban 4x4 t-boned me.
The SUV struck my right side which sent my bike one direction and myself in another. Both my bike and I traveled down a 20 ft embankment and we both came to rest in a parking lot. People came rushing over. There was an ambulance ride and two helicopter rides that ended me up in the hospital for six weeks. Three years later, over thirty surgeries, and part my leg missing below the knee on my right side and I feel blessed.
Blessed to be alive and kicking. Maybe not kicking as high but kicking just the same. This opportunity has allowed me to become closer with my family, a great career, and a new found love for life. I just want to smile. It is as simple as that. I just want to smile. And there are all sorts of things that make me smile.
I enjoy doing almost anything. I love spending time with my kids. They are a big part of my life. I am a volunteer fireman, full time prosthetic assistant, and the head of a local amputee support group I started last year. I enjoy working out several times a week, shooting pool, being off-road, playing poker, watching movies, and reading a good book. I love anything automotive. I am currently customizing two SUV's. One for me and one for my fourteen and nine year old sons. I love my boys.I love to travel. I at times just take a Friday off and hop a plane just for the simple fact to go somewhere. So distance between the one I am interested in is irrelevant. I am not scared by miles. I am only worried by the thought of not finding the one I'm searching for.
I am hoping to find someone I can spend some time getting to know. Someone to joke with, laugh with, and be real with. Someone who is sweet, caring, and honest. I was raised in the south by my grand parents so manners are bred into me. I open doors and pull out chairs. I was raised to say yes ma'am and no sir. I even call my younger sister ma'am. If this is not pleasing to you or if you see this as a fault then, I am sorry but I am not for you. Some tell me that I have a major fault in the fact that I love to spoil the woman I am with too much. But I will do this to the best of my ability as long as it is appreciated. I give more than I take and would enjoy spending time with someone with the same fault. Speaking of faults...
You have faults. I have faults. Heck i'm missing a leg here folks, that ain't normal. I am quick to use my mouth without thinking. But what comes out is usually what I meant but it could have been put in a better way. At times I pray for poor weather so I can spend time on the couch watching movies all day. I procrastinate. And I strongly believe if the kiss is good then everything else can be worked on. I love to just simply kiss.
I am adding this part because it seems to be a common mis conception from the contact I have had on other sites. I am not looking for someone to "take care of me." I do have a job. I work a lot of hours at my job. I do own my own home. My bills are all paid and I still have the financial means to enjoy my life. I have all of my teeth. I shower daily if not twice a day. I do own a dependable vehicle. If you were to meet me wearing pants you would never be able to tell I have any type of disability but I wear shorts every chance I get because I love... LOVE... where I am in life and am very proud of that I am still me even after all I have been through. I do not want a woman who needs a green card and no, despite what you say or promise, I will not send you money tomorrow or the next day.
