I haven't met too many other guys like myself, so if you're looking for the typical guy, you can probably stop reading this now. Alright... if you're still reading, thank you! I have been thinking about creating a Match profile and finally found motivation to do so last week while camping alone at 12,000 ft. After a nice hike, I returned to my truck, put on the Buena Vista Social Club, and had a snack. As the sun slid behind the ridge under which I was camped and the temperature started to drop, I turned off my music and listened to the wind and the animals. I was very content remembering that the only two people I saw that day had left the area and I had virtually an 8 mile valley and part of the Continental Divide to myself. I smiled until I realized that I had not laughed in two days because I was alone. If I added a warm smile and a giggle to that moment, I would have my `happy place` because "sometimes you just want to be with the one that makes you laugh." I love that quote! I am looking for someone who loves nature as much as family and isn't afraid to sleep outside and whisper while we look up at the stars on Saturday and then come back to Denver on Sunday and go to dinner and a movie. There is, however, always an option to stay in and cuddle on the couch in sweatpants. I am a very sensitive and romantic guy who believes that love is all about the little things. When I really care about someone, I will often write them poetry and find clever ways to deliver what I have written.
I believe that the distractions of everyday life can reduce "quality time" with your partner to simply "time" with your partner. There is a big difference: you spend time with a roommate. Conversation will be the foundation of my relationship with my partner and an afternoon out wherever periodically laughing at an inside joke until the tears run down our legs is what I seek. I also believe that two intelligent, creative minds working together to solve a problem usually develop a plan that leads to the best possible outcome. Partner means together, right? I am very mechanically-inclined and truly believe that I can fix almost anything. Please don't assume that means I break things trying to fix them. I am confident in my abilities, but I also recognize when the chance of me breaking something is far greater than the chance of me fixing it! I have always worked on my own vehicles and used to work in the neighborhood doing landscaping and handyman-type projects. A couple of years ago, I decided that my career as a structural engineer was not fulfilling because I was not utilizing my best talents. I wanted to work with people and help them so I went back to school to get my EMT certification and I love my job now. I am a good EMT with adults because I care. I am a great EMT with children because they believe I care. I eat healthy, exercise regularly, and stay motivated because I know that I will get on with a Fire Department soon.
I am neither a cheater nor an abuser and believe that those kinds of people are worthless. While in a relationship, I have never talked to another woman with unfaithful intentions. I am also not the guy who can easily control his laughter if he sees an old lady rip a massive fart that ruffles her dress. That's just funny. Well, I guess I am a typical guy in some respects...
