In other words, I don't have much of a filter when I am around people I'm comfortable with. I find the absurd, the ironic, and wit very funny. It just makes sense to me that if I'm in a difficult/awkward/painful situation where I could just as easily laugh as cry, I'd rather laugh.
I've also been told I laugh a little too loudly. I have embarassed people I've been to movies with, because I laugh out loud, and sometimes laugh when others do not. I laugh so easily, I am sometimes not aware of it, until the laugh has "escaped". Dont' get me wrong - I don't laugh at others' expense - more like situations, movies, etc.
On the other hand, I feel that the sound of a child's laughter may be the sweetest sound ever.
I can be silly, tender, disciplined when I have to, and really enjoy human interaction. (not necessarity sexual). For example, one of my favorite things to do is reconnecting with a friend I haven't seen in 6 months or more, and catching up. It makes my soul "glow". Or, just touching another's heart and making a difference.
Family is very important to me. It wasn't always, especially before I had children, and faced immortality, but I now understand one writer's quote "Family is where you go when no one else will take you," or something to that effect. (It's not because I've found myself in that position, per se, but because family members are the ones who always reallly know who you are, who you are always comfortable with on some level.)
I am looking to meet men who want to enjoy spending some time together, and not necessarily for a committed partner. If I don't find a "partner" that's fine.
If I do find someone I want to see exclusively, I need a man who will be my best friend, who will respect me, and yet understand that there will be differences of opinion, irritations, and sometimes the two minds will not meet. It is important to be with someone who wants to spend time with his friends, separately, and knows that I need the same time with my friends. I have a very hard time understanding couples who have to be together all the time, and seem to be attached at the hip.
I have two great daughters, one still at home and one married, living in town. I know it sounds cliche', but I feel very blessed to have had the privilege of raising them, and having their company.
