The most important thing to me is having a sense of humor, with that one can deal with all aspects of one's life. The ability to laugh and find some silliness is important but so is the ability to be serious and to communicate. I like to be around happiness, who doesn't?, and I love to see the smile in someone's eyes, that genuine smile.
I am well educated and a professional in the academic world. Having said that I am who I am and not what I do. My profession is not the be all and end all of my world and I have many other interests. I read a lot, mysteries and science fiction as well as about history and science. I listen to a wide range of music but unfortunately don't play any instruments and couldn't carry a tune in a bucket! I enjoy travel and broadening my horizons and try very hard to satiate my insatiable curiosity!
I am not the athletic type and to prove that carry a few extra pounds which I'd like to start to shed with some walking or even cycling.

That provides a frame of reference from a geographical, topical, musical and even political standpoint. It was a great time to grow up in a phenominal area, what is now known as Silicon Valley. Besides playing sports as a kid, I studied and performed music from the age of 13. I learned to fly when I was 16 and when college and career choices were to be made, I became a pilot. Then, life happened. I have traveled quite a bit over the years and played some pretty cool gigs as well. I like to spend my time off with my family/extended family and friends. I usually have some kind of real estate project in progress and I like to exercise, play music and enjoy the great outdoors ( beach, mountains, desert...in that order ). O.K. here's the real deal...I love life, I love my life (some might say too much!), I've got a good job, good health, good friends and (mostly) GREAT kids. I love the outdoors, boating, skiing, raquetball(oops..that's indoors), archery, shooting sports, fishing, bike riding, atv's, motorcycle riding (update: recently sold the motorcycle and hope I can stop myself from buying another, so if riding behind me with the wind in our hair and bugs in my teeth is really important to you...we'll rent)***more recent update...gas was closing in on $4 bucks a gallon, it was sunny...bought another bike...my bad), 4-wheeling, an occasional round of golf (not quite the addict I once was)...blah, blah, blah...just like every other guy in here and I'm looking for the same things as every other guy in here (well...except for the one's that are looking for other guys), but I can't speak for them, only me.
I look and act younger than I am (I should just lie and say I'm 42 but that would be wrong...right, ladies!?). Do I like romantic evenings? Yes. Walks on the beach? Yes. Sporting events & concerts? YES, YES, YES. Dancing in the rain? NO...that's for idiots (too much time in Oregon, I guess)! The point is...I like my life. I would like to meet my best friend and "soul-mate". Will it happen here? Hope so, who knows? In the meantime, maybe there is some fun to be had with someone I have yet to meet. Maybe that someone is you.
So let's summarize, I'm gainfully employed (but the day's not over), own a home (but the day's not over), don't do drugs (but the day's not over) and don't have a criminal record (Oops...just got a ticket for "mis-use of the turn lane", I'm tellin' ya...I'm incorrigible)...if I were you, I would want a guy just like me! These span from being a professional golfer to an owner of a boutique winery. I am originally from Tucson and after spending quite a bit of time back in the Old Pueblo I have decided to relocate. I forgot about the ever changing shadows on the Catalinas and the majectic powers of the giant saguaros. If you like fine wine, gourmet food, travel, and Arizona Wildcats then we need to chat.
