Date a man from Arizona, United States. The Trail.....
Hidden away in the subconscious is the perfect vision of a trail ride that stretches out ahead. As you ride the horse and stand in the saddle you can see the mountains in the distance...an open grassland just ahead with a stream circling around the bend.
As you ride along....your mind wanders and keeps thinking about the destination...for at a certain time on a particular day you and the horse will finally arrive at the camp. Its been a long ride. The camp fire is crackling, the smell of the food on a open flame and the sound of the stream splashing against the rocks. And when that day comes many dreams will come true.
So you ride relentlessly on...riding and riding...and riding and counting the time...waiting to finally get to camp.
"Yeah - that's right when I reach camp"...we keep promising ourselves..."When we're 21 years old....then when we are 40 years old....When I get that raise...when the last child graduates from school....when I buy that new truck....pay off the house....saved enough for retirement".
"From that day on I will have it made".....
Sooner or later however we must realize there is no perfect planned out trail to ride to the campsite in this life. No particular spot to arrive at once and for all.
The journey is the joy. The trail ride is an illusion - it always out distances us. Yesterday belongs to history....Today belongs to you...and Tomorrow is promised to no one. Yes indeed....yesterday is fading in the sunset...tomorrow is a sunrise...and only today is there enough light for life and love.
It isn't the troubles of today that make us mad...but rather the regrets over yesterday and the uncertainty of tomorrow.
So.....perhaps its time to pull the horse up short....climb down off the saddle.....stand for awhile....look around.....stare at the stars....feel the breeze.....laugh more...cry less....be grateful.....and feel the presence of now....yes...
Meet single man from Arizona, United States. This is on my to-do list. Happily retired. Spent many years in new technology development in telecommunications. Have a few patents to my name, nothing too exotic. Enjoy golf, running and exercising. All other time is by the seat of my pants now that I don't have to punch the clock. Have many projects around the house that fell on the back burner while being a single parent and working.
Date a soulmate from Chandler, United States. I am a retired military man with a doctoral degree now teaching. I love golf, bowling, cooking, traveling, working on my home, cats, pizza, and I hate liberals, dogs, kids, loud & inconsiderate cellphone users, people who can't spell, and mexican food. I make every effort to dress well, do the best I can, and act responsibly. I expect the same courtesies in return.
