I empathize with you guys who find yourself in the same boat. (newbies, you might want to skip over this part.....then again, maybe not) So, I guess the million dollar question is this: Why do we keep trying?
I can only answer for myself. Like many of you, I was married for many years (twenty, to be exact) Upon getting divorced, I never dreamed it would be so tough to find the right man for me: a partner in all things, a best friend, a lover, my other half. Alas, all these years later, here I am.
One of the things I've noticed with my Match dates (and admittedly I've been guilty of the same upon occasion) is that they want to talk about all of the horrible experiences they've had meeting women from this venue. Yeah, it happens. But you know what? I've met a number of wonderful men online, men with whom I've later become good friends. I have simply yet to meet The One. From the mere fact that you're reading (and I thank you for doing so) I surmise you have yet to meet that special person as well.
My philosophy: Anything can happen. Anytime. Anywhere.

Polished, yet down-to-earth. Self-confident, yet not arrogant. Well-educated but possesses at least a modicum of street smarts. Patient and kind without morphing into a pushover. Someone who is both perceptive and of high enough moral fiber to never confuse weakness with kindness in another person. Someone who never tires of expanding his mind and awareness. Who likes to travel. Who loves the ocean. Someone who will savor the good times with me, then stand steadfastly beside me whenever life delivers a vicious punch. A man who 30 years from now I will hold his gaze and say (in the words of Orleans) "We're still havin' fun, and you're still the one . . . "
Once again, compatibility is described in words. Chemistry is described in person.

They taught me to do the right thing and treat others by the "golden rule." Family, friends and community are very important to me. I am honest, dependable, loyal and faithful and expect the same from anyone who is a part of my life.
The single most important goal in my life has been to be the best mom that I am capable of being for my 18 year old son; I hope that as he enters adulthood he will become the strong, independent and loving man that I know he is capable of being. I have a very fufilling and challenging career as a health care professional. I am fortunate to spend my days doing what I love. While I work hard at work, I work equally hard at living my life to the fullest.
