I enjoy watching movies at home, or going to the movies. Playing cards with a small group of friends makes for great night. The fun and converstation all lead to developing an intimacy that you cannot get from going out or in larger groups.
I am in the midst of a few rennovationsprojects at my place. I enjoy the designing and then the feeling of accomplishment of a project completed and how it adds to the space. I am still working, approximately 10 more years.
I was married 35 years and recently widowed so I obviously like being in a relationship, but I am not needy. I too hate drama and don't think it is necessary to live. So many people just overdo everything. I am honest - what you see is what you get, what you hear is what I mean (unless I am playing and exercising my gift of sacrasm, but only when the mood is right). I know people can and do disagree, but I also know things can be worked out without weapons or going home to momma.
I love animals. Ok let's be honest, I love dogs, I tolerate cats (just not my best friends, but I don't hate them or anyhting). I have (had) an aquarium and I too have a pond in the back, although it is in miserable shape right now. The fish have died (only had some $0.20 goldfish and now a couple of frogs have moved in. I recently put in an above ground pool. My son-in-law and I dug (with a machine) a hole to put it in so it is only about two feet above grade. I am currently building a deck around so it (hopefully) will look almost like it is built-in.
