I find myself very happy with myself at this point in my life, so I'm wondering what it would be like to take that comfort level out into the world. Some of my feminist beliefs have changed since I was 12, but I began developing them back then, and only a few of them got dropped along the way. I certainly haven't any interest in someone who ignores what I tell him, but I must admit that it's a perfect indicator for a scam. It only took one copy/paste into Google for an email I got today to discover a message lifted directly from earlier identified Nigerian scam artists.
It may turn out that online dating is not for me, that I'd do better saving my money to go to TAM or Rock Beyond Belief. It isn't that I can't be lighthearted and giggly and fun; it's that I have to think that you see me as being more than that before I play. It isn't that I can't be supportive and cuddly and admiring; it's that I have to have some trust that those things are mutual for reasons we both understand, not just because they're accepted/expected as the next thing to do.
