A bit about me:
I’m shy at first. Although I’m at ease in a group of people, I’m not exactly a social butterfly.
Many women’s profiles on this website express a need for honesty and laughter. I assume you’re not getting much of either. I have a clear sense of honesty and fairness. I also have a good sense of humor, although dry at times.
I work as a staff writer for a US Army publication. I’m fairly articulate and can hold a conversation. I can both listen and talk.
What hair I have left gets clipped ultra-short. If you’re looking for a Greek god with long, golden tresses, I’m not your man.
Women have told me I’m affectionate. I like to give and receive small displays of physical affection. I love slow, sultry kisses that warm you to your core. I’m earthy but not vulgar. I consider myself a gentleman who knows how to open and close doors, pull out a chair and help you on with your coat.
I have a steady job with a decent salary. I’m frugal but not cheap. I like to have some nice things but I’m not overly materialistic. In fact, I’ve started to get rid of some possessions I’ve accumulated over the years. As I get older, I appreciate simplicity and a lack of clutter.
I’m not an overgrown kid. I don’t drink much, but I’ll go to happy hour now and then. I rarely party with the boys. I’ll not drag any drama or complications into your life. I haven’t been accused of drama since I played one of the three wise men in the six-grade Christmas pageant. (“Look, it is the baby Jesus!”) I like to keep things simple. I’m easy going and even tempered. I’m not a player and would hardly know how to be one.
I don’t hunt and fish, and it’s been years since I’ve ridden a motorcycle. I used to ride horses when I lived in Arizona. I watch football now and then, but I don’t live vicariously through athletes. My days of competitive sports are long gone. I’m not much of a dancer, but I wouldn’t mind having a partner to take salsa lessons with.
In the past year, I’ve been getting back into the gym four times a week, burning off some fat and putting on some muscle. It helps keep me young.
I enjoy travel and I’ve been to a few places: Russia, China, Tibet, Central America, Mexico, Arizona, California, Idaho, Key West, New Orleans, Napa Valley. I hiked the Grand Canyon a while back—for the sixth time. I also like weekend getaways.
I love animals, especially dogs, cats and horses. I currently room with a couple of stray cats.
To sum up: I’m a flawed man but a fundamentally good man. Maybe that’s the best any of us can say.

I grew up in the state of Idaho. From there as a 40ish year old, I moved to Fairbanks, Alaska and after 5 years of winter, moved to Hilo, Hawaii. I did move the Oregon Coast briefly but back to Hilo.. I spent a total of 15 years in the Islands and call them home. I came to Tennessee for a brief stay and then down to the Golden Isles of Georgia.From there to Dothan where I am now.. A very nice place and I enjoy it here very much... Meet single man from Alabama, United States. Now that I have been on here for couple of weeks, I feel that I can sum up my life as of now. I love to camp have an acre on the Tennessee River near Savannah TN., I try to spend alot of summer time there, fishing or improving the property.
