Overall, I am optimistic and very appreciative of the friends, family, good fortune that I have.
I lived internationally for several years which peaked my curiosity in other cultures. Traveling helped me realize I prefer to have more adventures than things, (not counting outdoor toys like skis and bikes). Living abroad also gave me a broad perspective of the world and has changed my life for the better. I still fit in an occasional trip for work, fun, or both. I am very lucky to have had a lot of fun experiences and plan on many more.
I am interested in a developing a good friendship and a relationship with the right person. While shared interests are a plus, shared values, timing, and chemistry are key. I am a bit skeptical of online dating, but I am ready to be proved wrong.

My friends will tell you that I'm smart, funny, and down to earth, with enough of an edge to keep it interesting. I still believe in chivalry and being a gentleman. (Thanks Dad!) Having a well balanced personality is important to me. Serious with the silly. High art and high altitude. Fine dinning and cheeseburgers at the Cherry Cricket.
I keep myself busy with a cornucopia of activities (I can't remember the last time I used the word cornucopia, and now I'm thinking it sounds contrived. Plethora? Overabundance? Uhhhhm... A lot?) like road biking, mountain biking, hiking, camping, skiing, rafting, thumb wrestling, and a bunch of other activities that end in "ing". No need for you to worry that I'm some sort of crazy obsessed outdoor Colorado guy (we all know a few of those!) I seem to take on so much that I'll always remain an enthusiastic amateur at my hobbies. Besides, Denver has so many great options, that you miss out on a ton of great festivals and activities if you head west all the time. A good bit of balance is nice..alternating weekends here and in the mountains seems to be a great way to do things.
When I'm not doing the mountain thing, a great afternoon could include having friends over for a cornucopia of BBQ and beer in the backyard or at the ballpark. Checking out some of the Denver culture is always fun as well. I rotate becoming a member of the various museums in town on a yearly basis. This year I joined the Museum of Contemporary art...they've got an amazing rooftop bar, and the art is nice as well. I'll even happily accompany a date to the theater, although my choices tend towards Spamalot and Avenue Q. If you're nice, I'll let you drag me to something more refined.
You can probably guess from my photos that travel and adventure are passions of mine. I've done three long adventures as a backpacker, one of which stretched into nearly a year! I'm quite proud of my travel resume and have the stamps from about 40 countries to prove it. If you're like me, you enjoy running away from the mass-tourism circuit. I love spending the night in a jungle village, a train cabin or a remote tea house if it means seeing the spectacular, but splurging on a seaside resort with a killer restaurant and a masseuse is always a great way to end a trip.
So who am I looking for? Someone smart and well rounded who will share my desire to explore and see more of this planet. Someone who is healthy, happy and active. I'm not talking Olympic athlete active or anything. Just someone who can get out and have fun no matter how unique the situation might be. A very happily married friend of mine once gave me a bit of advice "Anyone can be passionate...it takes real love to be silly together." I think that's great advice, and I can't come up with a better way to express what I'm looking for.
Anyway, I have completely rambled on for way too long, but if you have made it this far, perhaps you would be interested in going just a little further. Be adventurous, take a chance and send a note. We'll meet up for an adult beverage somewhere and you can tell me some cool stuff about yourself. Everyone has an interesting story, and I want to hear about the quirky things that make you tick...not the same old stuff that we all have in common. I am fairly private when it comes to writing about myself online and believe that two people should get to know each other through conversation. You will find out that quick enough that I am very open and there is nothing I won't talk about but feel that there is no way a profile description can fully describe me. I am an active guy and have a lot of interests but none of them really define me. I do run 3-4 races a year (I'm trying to cut back) but don't really consider myself a runner because I would rather "train" in boot camps, riding my bike, hiking, skiing, etc. I almost never know what I am going to be doing as the weekend comes but I almost always need to go back to work on Monday to relax and recover. I am pretty much happy doing anything as long as I have someone fun to do it with!
What am I looking for? I am looking for a woman that is successful (in whatever way you define it) and confident but does not take that success or confidence too seriously. I would like to find someone that is active but also enjoys a variety of activities (not just the ones I like). Meet single man from United States. First and foremost I'm a Christian who is always trying to become a better person. I'm not one who likes to argue and I like a person who knows when to pick their battles. I want children so that is a must, and I would want to raise them in a Christian home. I would like to say that I'm easy going, communicative and fun to be around. My family is very important to me and I would want the same in a person that I was involved with.
Here are some important items for me.
1. My faith- without it I'm nothing and I want somebody that shares that. I'm not a "holy roller" but I attend church every week and I'm involved with my church weekly outside of Sunday.
2. My family- I'm one of six and though were not always the closest family. I'm very close with my three younger siblings (split family). My Mom and Dad are awesome and I would really love to have somebody that loves their family as much as I do my own, I think it's a good judge of character:)
3. Friends- I'm very lucky (blessed) to have life long friends. Most of my friends live back south but I've been lucky to meet some great people here in Denver.
4. Colorado- Love this state and all it has to offer!!!
5. Politics- Sore subject for most but I think it's a must to talk about early. I'm Conservative (not crazy). I can understand and respect a different view as long as they respect mine.
6. I love life and all it has to offer, I'm looking for somebody that has a smile on their face when it"s gloomy outside. Life is short so find a beautiful person (outside and inside) and hang on for the ride:)
7. No smokers or drug users:)
8. I'm an affectionate person and would want the same in the woman I was with.
I also have a plan starting next summer to try to hit every major league baseball park. It would include having fun and exploring the city that were in.
If you have children and don't want anymore or aren't sure if you want children I can understand that but I do want children and would want to be with someone that is as excited about that gift as I am.

I try to make things as relaxing as possible in any situation, but when needed will never back down from anything.
