I'm a 37 year old guy in search for fireworks, or at least a spark anyway. I've lived in Denver for about 8 years now, love it, and I'm looking for someone special to share life with.
My match has great self-esteem and confidence; doesn't just agree with me because I do. She laughs with me all the time when I'm funny, even when I don't do it on purpose. She doesn't protest when I pay lots of attention to her and lets me take care of her when she needs it. She likes hugs and kisses hello, goodbye and in between and doesn't mind that her manly man likes to cuddle, too. She's grown up so she won't get scared off when I initiate communication or when I don't play games with her emotions like her high-school sweetheart. She's proud to be with a man that's decent looking and appreciates the effort I go to in order to not "let myself go" and that I try to choose the cherry tomatoes instead of Twinkies (well, most of the time); she's not shallow and looking for just aesthetics, but knows that there has to be mutual physical attraction.
She likes to spend time with my family and her family (both of which may just be a little on the nutty side). She enjoys spending the Fourth of July with me under the stars watching a beautiful display even though we had to hang out for hours to make sure we got a good spot and she remembers to bring a blanket because the weather always acts up at some point during the night. She loves that she knows I'll always take care of that spider on the wall and knows I'll usually take it outside because it didn't do anything to deserve execution. We like to fall asleep together because we know it means we'll wake up together.
She's doesn't mind that I like the kitchen and can prepare more than TV dinners and hamburger helper, and that I can make great breakfasts, desserts and don't do too badly with lunch or dinner. She likes that we are on the same wavelength and can finish each other's sentences often. She enjoys listening to me practicing the piano and even asks me to learn a piece for her. She likes having doors opened for her and doesn't think chivalry is passe.
I'm not looking for a permanent pen-pal, I think we should meet sooner than later, either we spark or we fizzle and we'll know it pretty quick.
I'm a romantic and to rip off some words from a cheesy movie that we all know, I look forward to day that I meet someone to complete me. Now, for those of you that say, "I'm complete already, I don't NEED someone, I want someone to complement me," first off, the definition of complement IS to complete, so cut it out. Sure, we're healthy, we are complete, as much as one human can be. We all want more than that, well, I do anyway. I want the elevated happiness that comes from experiencing the bond, the synergy, that two people can have together, where we are more than just the sum of the two parts.

As for me..... what do I say about myself... I can tell you anything but you don’t know me so what is the point. I will just tell you that I’m a good guy, NOT that pushover good guy though. I’m not afraid to debate my point of view if we disagree but I wouldn’t be an as* about it. If I don’t agree and you convince me, I’m not afraid to admit that I was wrong or that you are right. I believe that people are defined by their actions, not their words, and I can't stand arrogance in any of its forms. I like having random conversation with just about anyone. So back to this novel, there you have it, in a round about way. Like most people I have been in love and know how to treat someone you love. I understand that takes time…and the right person. I have a pic here so fair is fair, have at least one pic, I cant go off that “Trust me I’m....”.
PS I was in the Marine Corps for many years so please don’t misunderstand me. To read the above and think I am the typical guy, typical story would just be wrong. I am kind and compassionate to others because I have seen enough cruelty and hatred for a few life times and choose not to add to it, but I will always be and believe in being a "sheep dog". I’m not saying I’m better, we all have our experiences and roles… Mine has just been a bit different.
