Haved lived in more countries and states than I care to count but I think this is the end of the road - love Denver. I have been an engineer all my life so you can bet that I am analytical. But I don't quite fit the mold as I am not into gadgets or tech stuff. I would rather have an analog watch, I don't care for the internet (it is handy) and am more interested in people at work than the technical part. And I am pretty irreverent about a lot of things and like to laugh a lot. Gravitate to Indie movies - maybe that says something about me.
Travel a lot for work and just love it. Always planning for my next trip and just got back from a long vacation in Argentina. The most interesting part is not the statues or monuments but watching the swirl of a different society - and trying to look and act like a local - don't think I always pull that off, but it's fun trying.
Love to be outside and if not working in my yard am bike riding or snowboarding or hiking. Rarely catch me inside if the sun is shining.
I am grateful that I have two daughters who are smart, pretty and independent. Both with tons of common sense, really helps me to sleep at night.
Enough of the bio, although the most important part of a person is their personality I can not put that onto a webpage. What do I desire? Why am I typing this? Looking for someone who is really smart, charming and has some energy, probably need to liberal and have a slightly twisted sense of humor too. I enjoy watching and coaching my two boys play a variety of sports. I exercise walk/jog/run, bike, play a lot of different sports and getting my golf handicap back down to where it was when I played on the college team. I do not expect my partner to do all these things but it would be fun if she wanted to do one or more of them:) I've worked for the same company for 20 years. I work hard to exceed and I'm always looking to learn new things and improve upon myself. Well, to start, I wanted to touch quickly on the "Never Married" versus "Divorced" subject. For some reason there seems to be a bit of "jumping to conclusions". On the one hand, if a person has never been married it often is assumed they are commitment phobic (NOT true). Likewise, if someone has been divorced some people think that means this person can't make a relationship work (again NOT true). In any case, I believe it is important to at least open the cover (of a book) before jumping to conclusions - you never know, it could turn out to be an incredible life-long journey!
Okay, back to the really fun things to talk about! Maybe you agree with me that passions in life are definitely more enjoyable if they can be shared with someone special! These can be areas such as activities, hobbies, intellectual, emotional, and physical ... just showing interest in the other person's passions is important too. Since the "bar scene", "personnal referrals", "chance encounters", "blind dates", "club events", and the like have not lead me to find that "special" someone - I thought maybe the personnals might be worth another try (I'm assuming that you agree)!
So here goes - basically, I'm trying to find a sweet woman who's interested in a relationship "starting" with building a great new friendship. However that's ONLY the beginning - a lasting relationship would be filled with plenty of romance, love, mutual respect, shared interests, open communication, laughter/humor, and of course the right "chemistry". Trying to describe oneself is not all that easy but others have used words such as: truly a decent guy, honest, easy-going, hard-working, humorous, intelligent, loyal, caring, romantic, generous, fairly athletic, professionally-employed, a non-smoker, and not into drugs/excessive-drinking/mind-games. At heart I'm truly a "hopeless" romantic and would like to find someone who isn't afraid to communicate sincerely about her thoughts and feelings (you've got to help out us "dumb" guys once in a while, right? :-)!
Hopefully we would be able to share some of the following interests: hiking or driving in the mountains, long walks (in the rain or moonlight), bike riding, long (deep or silly) conversations, X-C skiing, tennis, exercising at the gym, photography, nature, travel to foreign countries, learning about new things, fine restaurants & wine, good movies, romantic candlelight dinners, art museums or shows, classical concerts, most types of music, even dancing (interested in taking some lessons ??), and also just enjoying the "simpler" things in life which many times are the most special. OOOOhh, did I forget hand-holding/cuddling/smooching - can't forget this VERY important area! Please add some of YOUR interests to the list TOO!
Preferrably, I'm looking for someone who is a true friend and companion, honest, affectionate, kind, appreciative, educated, bright, light-hearted, good sense of humor, positive, semi-athletic, a non-smoker/drug-user, spiritual (but not a fanatic), attractive, enjoys dressing nice on occassion, and MOST of all a "true" sweetheart!
