Whenever I read The Far Side I feel like I'm watching a National Geographic special on Prozac - talking sharks, squirrels in cop uniforms, cows with attitudes and can relate to the ironies and tragedies, the joyfulness and the richness of life on earth as illustrated by Gary Larson. I regard myself as having an adventurous spirit and have been told I look too serious sometimes but that is only when I find myself day dreaming about my next adventure or idea. Spontaneity breaks from conformity and leads to surprise, so be prepared for anything. From time to time I often sense Calvin (as in the Calvin and Hobbes cartoons) wanting so desperately to show himself. I strongly believe in having a childlike, not childish, approach to life, but will always draw on the knowledge of years past to succeed, it keeps me young at heart and wise of spirit.
Having lived on the Southern tip of Africa most of my life, over here in the US I live for the outdoors, spending my time hanggliding, hiking, swimming, cycling and doing a few triathlons. A healthy outlook is key as there is still so much to do and without health it cannot be done. As for the winters there is skiing and doing what Calvin does... building snowpeople.
Life without a little fear is no life at all. To challenge my fear, I "Dance the skies on wind filled wings". My hang gliding and skydiving have allowed me to enjoy my passion for having my feet off the ground while also providing me with that sense of being free as a bird. In contrast to that, a weekend away, pop corn and a movie or just good conversation are also wonderful moments to treasure. Much has been learned over the years and just when I think I know what I want in a partner, someone comes along that breaks the mould. So I guess it just boils down to how much chemistry and fun we have together. Having said that, there are four attributes that, I believe, are required at various stages to having a successful relationship: Attraction, Love, Friendship and most importantly, communication. As for the details, time will define them.
If you are looking for a cook unfortunately I am not much of one; but I am pretty useful as an assistant though; cleaning up afterwards and stacking the dishwasher as efficiently as possible (perhaps that comes from being responsible for loading the trunk with as much stuff as possible on family vacations).
