You can find me at a hockey rink almost any day of the week, and if not there then on my bike or playing my guitar. I can be really outgoing, but I can also be insanely shy and introverted. I love music. I've been playing the guitar for 9 years now (self-taught, in case you were wondering), and I also sang in my high school choir. I'm currently the lead guitarist, keyboardist, and alternate vocalist for the local metal band What's Been Used (we're awesome, and we have a strange name - what's not to love?). I also played the saxophone for 5 years and am looking at getting much, much better on the piano.
I got hooked on hockey very shortly after my family moved here from California when I was 4, and my love for the sport has only grown. I've been watching and following the NHL intensely for as long as I can remember and I'm an avid Avalanche fan (but I'll root for other teams if I really have to). I've been playing both ice and inline hockey as a goalie since I was 11, and I hit some of the highest levels in inline hockey possible, so now I'm looking to make a name in ice.
I'm also really into cycling, even though I have yet to get on my bike this summer. I watch the Tour de France religiously (yeah, I'm kind of a nerd), as well as any of the major tours when they come on television. Last year I rode from the ranger's station in Idaho Springs to the top of Mt. Evans, so hopefully this year I can do it again (roads willing - I almost died on the way down last year).
This may be a little controversial, but I'm a bit of a political nerd. I figured when I graduated high school that politics were going to affect my life whether I knew about it or not, so I might as well pay attention.

I would like to think that I am not a very complicated person but after reflecting on what to write here I have discovered that I am a train wreck...but at least anyone who takes the time to read everything I write knows more about me than anyone I could meet out at a bar.
-I absolutely love to travel. I recently finished a year abroad living and teaching English in South Korea. I had the opportunity to travel all over Asia and it was an incredible experience. I have also studied abroad in Spain, and have been to 22 countries so far. Experiencing different cultures firsthand and seeing the beauty in human expression is addicting.
-I love all types of food. I think one of life's greatest pleasures is good food and good company. I love to cook too.
-I really enjoy all types of animals. They've always had a special place in my heart.
-For me, friendships are all about quality rather than quantity, and I have some truly amazing friends in my life. It's kind of a necessity that anyone I date gets along well with them.
-Going to clubs, concerts, and music festivals is a huge part of my life. Dancing to a loud beat, forgetting about all my worries and distractions, and having a big smile on my face while it all happens is an awesome feeling.
