Mostly I've been willing to and wanting to change into who God wants me to be. As I mentioned, I'm involved in ministry. But I believe my first ministry is at home and look forward to leading a home. To be clear though, I believe firmly in servant leadership both in business and at home. I believe that we are all equals yet different. I believe in being equally yoked as well, meaning that my partner in life is pulling in the same direction with the same vigor as I. When I think of leadership, I think of the one who is willing to take the first step, make the hard choices and the biggest sacrifices. When I think of a soulmate, I think of someone who is comfortable, who fits, who can challenge me and whom I can challenge.
I've been pursuing a degree (almost done) and have found something that I want to do with my career. I'll work for a time in training and development, ideally with non-profits. I'm going to keep going to school for a PhD. I'd like to teach and consult, giving me the freedom to spend time with family and in ministry.
I'm looking for someone who knows who they are and what they want. I'm looking for someone who wants a Godly, healthy relationship. I'm looking for someone who is intelligent and ambitious, and I'd be fairly drawn to someone who considers herself independent, even free spirited with a stubborn streak. But more importantly, I'm looking for someone who sees family as a priority. I'm looking first and foremost for someone who desires always a deeper relationship with God and the people she loves. I'm looking for someone who can submit to the word of God and to a husband who wants to serve his wife. I'm looking for a helper, a friend, and a confidant.
Lastly, I have dreams–lots of dreams. Not all my dreams have or will come true. What I am looking for is someone to dream with. I don't know all that I want to do in life because I haven't found the person I do life with. I just think that two people are better as one, and their dreams are more vivid and real went dreamt up together. That's the adventure I want.
PS...It may be hard to tell but I've got a real serious streak (perhaps you noticed). But I definitely love to laugh and have a pretty dry, sometimes silly sarcastic sense of humor. Also, I only write this way; I talk like a normal person...for the most part. I just figured I'd lay it all out there because that's how I am. Date someone special from Denver, United States. It seems the older I get, the more my life resembles Seinfeld. I haven't come across a close talker or maestro, but have enough of my own stories to fill several evenings. Like the time I was a wheelchair model (I was typecast and my career was over) or the time I was teaching at a university and went off about how the word "unique" has no meaning anymore. I probably talked about it for 10 minutes, how every marketing person has so abused the word it has lost all power what so ever. A student walked up after and said "My middle name is Unique."
In general, I try to find the adventure in everything in life and am lucky to have an incredible career and lots of characters with whom to hang and travel.
Since people seem to mention their career, I'll play along (although I have a bit of a problem with authority). I started an online news business that now has five employees. We are expanding to Denver. I am spoiled in that I am my own boss. I also love my craft, and love to find a good story and write about it. I've gotten to cover stories in Guatemala and Nova Scotia and Ecuador -- but that was before I started a local news business.
For recreation, I prefer being outside and active. After work I wanna be playing softball or maybe jogging on the trails or biking.It would be great fun to share some of that, but I am not looking for a workout partner, but rather someone with whom I enjoy being around. (Most of my photos here are from outdoor stuff, but that's because I am a guy and don't take many photos).
I appreciate a spirited and meaningful conversation, especially when somebody makes a point I never thought of. And I cherish learning new things.

I used to be a long distance runner, but my last marathon (Steamboat 2011) sort of messed my knees up, so while I am rebuilding their strength I run moderately and have taken up road biking. I enjoy riding my new bike, however, I am no expert. I also enjoy skiing, backpacking, hiking, camping, fly fishing and disc golf.

In general I prefer spontaneous over planned, fun over relaxing, local restaurants over chains, and real life over movies and tv. I'm a social guy who likes to spend my free time with friends and family. I love to stay busy, especially in the summer. I'm out and about almost every day. I go down to Wash Park all the time, go for a lot of hikes. I love going to concerts and going camping. I'm really into music, and collecting music will be a life long hobby for me. Right now I'm listening to a lot of indie rock and electronic, but I also like alt. country, bluegrass, rock, etc.
I have been living in the city for several years now, and I love it. I love living within walking distance of all the local restaurants, bars, sporting events and concerts, while at the same time being able to make it to the mountains in short order. I bought a condo down here a couple years ago, so I'm planning on staying for a while.

I grew up in the south, but then spent a few years working for a consulting company and moved across the country spending 3 months here and three months there for a few years. After getting a little burnt out moving around, I settled here in Denver about 5 years ago. I enjoy my current job working on energy policy and I take it pretty seriously, but usually get to leave it at the office at 5.
