I'm actually pretty simple in wants and needs .
I'm 6ft tall, currently trying to get to two hundred pounds down from 225,some of my blond hair has still remained faithful to me others have decided to leave or change color . My eyes are blue .

Hiking, bicycling and photography are passions. I do some writing, both fiction and non, but do not rely on it as a source of income. I am a retired police lieutenant from Wis who went to Iraq in '05 to train Iraqi police cadets. The experience was both humbling and gratifying. I stopped off in Germany for two weeks prior to returning, and loved biking along the Mosel River -- the people, the vineyards, the castles, the views --- overwhelming! The fantastic German white wines are hard to beat, as are the great beers of Bavaria. I was back in Germany in 2011, hiking in the Alps and biking again along the Mosel. Paris is still my favorite city anywhere, with it's historic allure, romanitc restaurants and Seine River, and the ease of getting around via subway and on foot. Travel is a passion, and the history and charm of Europe draws me back every year, along with travel throughout this great country of ours. For background, I was married for nine years, was not fortunate enough to have children, but enjoy being a big part in the lives of my nieces and nephews. I intend to continue gaining knowledge via my travels, and would welcome a gentle partner. I prefer to travel 'Rick Steves' style (in Europe that means small places with character, where meeting locals is the goal, and discovering more about fascinating places --- not into resorts). I usually rent cars there, for flexibility, and know my way around quite well. In VA, I loved having a BMW motorcycle for adventure, and the thrill of zooming up mountains for hikes, but sold it before moving back to AZ. Also do some volunteer work, like AARP tax preparation, currently Friends of the White Tank Library, and did some substitute teaching in the local schools (mostly HS) while in Virginia, just for the challenge. You would need to be fit for this to work, and capable of exerting energy in the quest of that discovery. I am 5'11", weigh 160 lbs, and build in activity with all my pursuits, to stay fit and healthy. I am not always a paying member here. Thanks for reading.
