Being an intellectual inquisitor and eternal optimist, I always believe the glass is half full. I am a Humorist and Therapist who will always try and make you laugh and feel good about yourself. I've noticed that people betray past relationship issues when they talk about what they want. I suppose that inclination is understandable and tempting. But realistically, a wholesale indictment of all men or women should be a red flag, no? Like "everybody's wrong but me." Truth is, I've dated some women with qualities and characteristics that I still admire. Among them tend to be compassion, sense of humor, a legitimate value system and intellectual curiousity. While I acknowledge having a soft spot for intelligent women, I'll take a nice person over a smart jerk all day long.
My priorities have changed markedly over the past couple of years--for several reasons. Chief among them is my 2 1/2 year old son, who's been an incredible gift. I’ve triumphed and also failed on numerous occasions. Through each endeavor I’ve grown, even when I didn’t realize it at that particular time. I don’t look back with regret or too far into the future, preferring to maintain a solid footing in each day and extracting as much as possible from that day….. sort of like getting the last bit of cookie dough off the beaters.
I have an active lifestyle and a serious walking, running and hiking companion in my Yellow Lab named Fergus. He couldn’t be bothered with the nonsense of fetching, but lives to explore and mark his place on this planet. I did participate in sports throughout my youth and can be quite competitive, but I’m not a fanatic about viewing sports nor does my life revolve around it. I typically prefer to invest my time in creative pursuits.
My career has ties to the Restaurant industry, which is something I’ve been affiliated with since my late teens. I spent twelve years working as a professional Chef, and then later put away my knives to pursue a passion for the wine industry. Through my work I've been fortunate to travel overseas a great deal, and make a number of acquaintances abroad.
My family is in Albuquerque and overseas in Ireland, and I hope to spend more time with them in the future.
