Date someone special from United States. Hello, I am independent and nerdy. I've been busy raising my children. One is ready for college, the other still working through high school so they have my focus quite a bit and I am enjoying that. Moving on after 20 year marriage which is just friendly now. I would like to meet one main man. What kind of man? Maybe quieter is better, but I haven't ruled you out! I have met a few people from the midwest and I like their manners. I am from NY by way of LA and have lived in AZ for about a dozen years. I'm a bit of a hippie, underground economies, slow food, community builder and librarian. I don't watch FOX news and you shouldn't either so if you do, let's waste no time talking. Natural and down to earth is my ideal type though we all have vanities. I'd like to meet someone that can engineer something even if just a hammer and nail; someone not afraid to make a wrong turn and get lost, someone with whom I can feel relaxed in their presence. A sense of humor about oneself and life is essential. I think it takes courage to try new things and I admire that quality. For my 40th birthday I did a half-marathon AND got a tattoo; so when I make a decision, I'm all in. The tattoo turned out to be the less painful! I don't seek perfection in myself or others but like things to be done with perfect heart. By that I mean with good, focused, intention. Sometimes this mean something won't get done. Communication is vital for any relationship.
Words on me; creative, serious, silly, relaxed, friendly, helpful, optimistic, cheery, passionate, sensible. My adult friends call me Mama with all manner of variation, sweet, little, -cita etc., so that might be telling. I am actually a little older than the age posted here but somehow I can't seem to fix that typo! Besides I do think that yes you can tell something about a person from reading a bit, looking at their list, but I hesitate to say it's the best way to meet people- choosing attributes. I do think that by going out, and having a bit of time together, the law of averages is more likely to come in to play before the seemingly endless combination of attributes organized here will. I'm not saying I think this is a definite fail but I can't imagine why it seems some people have their minds made up, wanting love, friendship and life in a predefined scripted package. I'm more adventurous and leave some things to chance.
Where do I see myself in five years? In a relationship with one man, traveling, giving back to myself and others. Enjoying the life I have made, happily sharing the parts meant to be shared.

Alrighty then, now that I got that out of the way. I guess it's time to share some things about me that will hopefully interest you. Unless you read the profiles first you have gotten past my pictures so it's my time to shine! I would describe myself as very down to earth, easy going and nothing makes me happier than to make the people around me laugh and smile :o) it's so contagious. I strive to be upbeat and positive regardless of the situation. My friends would tell you I'm compassionate, spontaneous, have a good sense of humor, a positive attitude and a bubbly personality. I love weekend trips especially to the beach. I also love going to sporting events (football and baseball are my favs) or I'm perfectly happy hanging out with my friends watching them on TV. Especially when it's by the pool and we're BBQing. I am originally from upstate New York but pretty much grew up in Arizona. I enjoy going to movies, concerts, dancing, horseback riding, traveling, cooking or anything that keeps me young at heart and of course looking young as well, lol. I enjoy all types of music except rap but country is definitely my favorite! I have a great teenage daughter and a cool family. I am very fortunate and thankful for both.
I was married for 15 yrs and have been divorced for 4 years. My ex and I get along well so there is no drama, baggage or bitter feelings to contend with. It makes it nice since we have a daughter that needs to know she has our love and support and it's very important to both of us that she understands that. I'm not up for playing games or drama nor do I want to be involved with someone who is. We have all made mistakes in our lives it's what we have learned from them that really matters the most. I respect those around me and expect the same in return. I work for a large aerospace company and I truly enjoy what I do. I'm not looking for someone to support me financially I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself in that respect. I'm a very mature and honest person. I surround myself with positive people and value their friendship. Negative people are a real turn off to me. There is nothing fake about me AT ALL and I'm proud of who I am. I will never attempt to try and be someone I'm not. I care about people for who they really are (flaws and all because we all have them whether we want to admit it or not). Although physical attraction and chemistry is important I believe it's equally important to be kind to others, compassionate, trustworthy and ultimately happy with yourself. I think those are key attributes for a successful and healthy relationship. I want someone that is proud to say, "yes she is with me" and I'm crazy about her.
