Date men and women from Arizona, United States. I am an Arizona native who grew up in Mesa, AZ, but have lived in Phoenix for several years. I really like the Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale area. I am a high school English teacher and Varsity basketball coach in the East Valley. I work at a low-income school, which I prefer. I like teaching, but my passions are coaching and helping under privileged kids.
When I'm not at work I typically spend my free time with a core group of friends and see my family as much as possible. We spend quite a bit of time at restaurants/bars (mostly calm), playing sports, attending sporting events, hiking Camelback on the weekends, or taking road trips.
I feel weird talking about my own personality traits, but I guess I'd be considered funny, sarcastic, always happy, confident, honest, and I genuinely care about the people around me. I'm never in a bad mood. Not a whole lot bothers me and when I do get mad, I get over it very quickly. We all have different interests, values, upbringings, so whatever people do with their lives is fine with me as long as it doesn't affect myself or those around me.
Being an English teacher, I absolutely hate poor grammar and my biggest pet peeve of all is when someone incorrectly uses "your" instead of "you're." The only other thing that really bothers me is when people are too cool to joke around or have fun.
I guess what I am looking for is a girl who is smart, funny, sociable, and someone who can take crap, but most of all, dish it out! I grew up in a family of all boys and athletes, so I feel uncomfortable if I'm not being made fun of or making fun of someone else (to their faces of course). I also like girls who have friends and stay busy because I am pretty busy myself during the school year (especially during basketball season). I like meeting new people and making new friends and if more comes from it, then that's even better. A lot of this sounds cliche, and I hate cliches, so I apologize ahead of time. After all, I gave 110%........
This is my first time ever trying a site like this and I really don't have any expectations. Being a high school teacher, the majority of the people I meet are teenagers and adults close to retirement (not exactly my type). I thought this would be a good way to meet new people around my age with similar interests.

Meet single boy from Arizona, United States. As I've already hinted at, I'm a bit of a nerdy individual. I'm one of those people who was shy in high school and college, and I hung out with my other stereotypical nerdy friends. I was in chess club, and would have joined debate, but my school didn't have one! I graduated from ASU with a BSE in chemical engineering and I work in my field.
I've found that most of the people in the engineering field love the environment and spending time outdoors. I also follow that mold and love to go hiking and camping. I've been doing some back-country camping in the last couple of years and would love to have somebody who would come with me. I'm looking for somebody who wants to enjoy the outdoors. Maybe you have already; that'd be great too! I'd like to spend time with somebody who also appreciates the dew on a leaf in the morning, or the sound of a bull elk trumpeting to his mate. These are things that I enjoy and would enjoy more if I had somebody by my side to enjoy them with me. Even if you're a bit out of shape, we can start small and work our way up into longer back country hikes. Keep it to 4-5 miles for now, and work into the 15-20 mile trips.

Family and friends are a huge deal to me. I am definitely a family oriented person. #5 out of 6 boys born, needless to say I have very thick skin and a very sarcastic sense of humor. Being from a male dominated family, I must say I am pretty much the most laid back and mellow person you may ever meet. I cant stand meatheads or people who are too cool for the moment. Life is to short to not enjoy it and live with no regrets.
I am a gambler and thrill seeker at heart. Anything lame is probably not going to catch my attention. I would like to find someone who is as outgoing and curious as I am as to what is out there or where the future will take them.
My social life is up and down. Lately it has been a little more laid back, but at any moment a random trip to Vegas or Cali can be aligned.
