The glass is half full. Life has been and is good! Yet - I think it could be even better with a friend, companion, and/or partner with whom to share it. And, FYI, Woodland is near Davis - so not all that far from Sacramento AND close to the airport - for any anticipated travels or quick get-aways by air!
In no particular order, I'd (humbly and modestly) say that I'm independent, confident, serious-but-fun, out-going/sociable/friendly (easy to get to know) as well as quiet/content-to-stay-home, considerate, warm-hearted, affectionate, kind/caring/compassionate, a dress-up and/or dress-down person (you can take me anywhere!), communicative/open/expressive of my feelings, have integrity plus a good sense of humor, adventurous, curious/inquisitive, interesting, interested/a good listener, well-educated and mannered (with a hint of irreverence), intelligent, dependable, responsible, reliable, 'into' both spontaneous and/or planned activities, adventurous, fairly financially secure, and MORE! No baggage. No drama. No games. Did I miss anything important to you? Maybe I forgot to include it!

Currently, I teach 4th grade; but I've not been a life-long teacher. Other occupations include corporate San Francisco, hotel management, tourism, and owning a business for 10 years.
I have always loved exploring new cultures, places, and ideas - be they far away or around the bend. In my younger years, along with 4 others, I drove the Pan American Highway from S.F. through Central America, crossing into Columbia via banana boat with our 2 vehicles, then down the West coast of South America, into Argentina from Bolivia (Chile was in "coup" mode) and up to Rio de Janeiro - where the trip of a lifetime ended. But just exploring a new town or area within California can be delightful.
In addition to traveling/exploring, a few years ago I "discovered" ballroom and Latin dancing - which is a lot of fun. If you like to dance at all, try it! A bit more challenging is my attempt to learn Argentine tango....
NPR wakes me up in the morning. I've found pleasure in attending plays and movies, eating exciting/interesting cuisine, and listening to audio books en route to work. I watch little TV (no time).
Health-wise, I've had heart issues - but nothing in the past several years (thanks to good docs and meds). "Live life to the fullest" is my motto, so I live as if there are many tomorrows. Exercise includes a morning cardio class and swim aerobics during vacations, walking and treadmill the rest of the year; I'm also getting back into yoga. Food-wise, I am a fish/shellfish-eating vegetarian - but do not expect you or anyone else to be. Favorite foods include Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, most Asian, Mediterranean, etc..

I love my family, I have three children and six grandchildren and
two wonderful daughter in laws.
Time spent together is special...we share lots of laughter and joy
doing things as a group. All my children are relatively local exept
for my oldest granddaughter, she is a Duck now...U of O. We are
all very proud of her.
My friends also are a true blessing in my life. We share time together
at book clubs, dinner clubs, golfing, tennis, or sometimes just "hanging"
out together. I feel very fortunate to have these close friends and
acquaintances. And now to "Match! Yes, I am on the journey like so
many others, to find a fun, available, compatible, loving, energetic,
thoughtful guy...I want to meet that special someone whom I will grow to
know and love and have that same love returned to me.
I feel as though each new day is another adventure. I am flexible and
comfortable going with the flow, enjoying the moment and having
less expectations. I think those are pretty important traits for two people
to have in their hopes of compatibility.
It's a great phase of our lives, but never to be taken for granted.
When the work schedule no longer demands so much of us, when we
can take the time to explore new things at our leisure and to learn even
more about ourselves.

Believing that things happen most often for a reason, I choose to be
happy rather than finding fault or negativity. I have a high level of energy.
As you read on you'll see there are many sports and activities I enjoy.
I am loyal and extremely sensitive to other peoples feelings. I am a
good listener and problem solver!
I am a considerate person, affectionate and i have a good sense of
humor. I stay physically and mentally fit....physically by daily walks,
on a treadmill or golf course, mentally through yoga and a strong faith.
I am looking forward to meeting a gentleman with the same values as I and
the same desire in sharing life together. Building a long term relationship
based on our friendship. We will grow stronger with a mutual respect
and love for one another....there will be lots of laughter and silliness.
There's a certain excitement of not knowing where the next opportunity
lies...I haven't had to move very often but I would be open to the
possibility of another one. I always feel very comfortable when I'm in
the mountains....let's just say, I will never get rid of my cross country ski's!
My travels have been few but I 'm looking forward to doing much more.
There is so much more to say about myself ...my wonderful family,
the work I did for 30 years. my volunteer activities, etc. All part of making
my life very meaningful, and very blessed. Hope I can share more with you later.

. I'm at a point in my life where I'm doing everything I enjoy. I love my family and friends, and enjoy meeting and working with people. I'm lucky to be able to play golf several times a week, and tennis a couple of times a week and still have time to take care of my businesses. Thank heaven for computers!
I enjoy company and hope to fine someone who will be my best friend and share time with me. I'm not much of a hiker and have not camped more than once or twice in my like, which is not to say I might not like those activities. I do like to travel and have in seen a lot of the world. I'm flexable and as long as I'm with someone I like I'm not particular about what we do or where we go.
I'm both a widow and have been divorced. I believe that although we try to plan and make the best choices, many things simply happen in life, for better or for worse. Also think we're free to choose how we react most of the time. I've heard women know in 30 seconds if they like someone, but it takes men a whole 1-1/2 minute! Can't say if it's true or not!

. Still trying to develop the areas of my life not attended to. I am curious and love to exchange knowledge. I chose to live on the positive side of life and know half of the journey is the choice. I don't want to grow old and try to stay busy in one form or another. Truth- this age(except for the mirror) is the best as there is knowledge and more acceptance in life. I believe I have a strong emotional side and process a lot of my thoughts thru my feelings. i yearn for the person called "soulmate". As to a match, I want a caring, sensitive, intelligent, tuned in man.
Everyone says honesty and yet my journey hasn't intoduced me to many. I would like my match to be clean of mind and have a compass that is morally correct- in touch with the caring of others. I want to laugh and be happy in the big and small things of life and a companion filled with acceptance of both himself and myself. I want the person who is ready to be loved and cared about-
I am not closed, I am open to experiencing anything life has to offer both intellectually and physically. There is not so much time left and there is so much I don't yet know. I want to live the life that is ahead of me and not just survive it. I want a companion with some of the same traits who will look forward to a beautiful day from the time he wakes up in the morning.
