My sister is eight years younger than me, and she completely has my heart. My favorite place, other than with my family and friends, has to be in the kitchen. There is a calmness I find there, and I'm just really comfortable. It's one of the few places where I feel like I actually know what I'm doing. Laughter is the best thing. I love to laugh. Most people in my life would probably say I have a good sense of humor and am quite funny. However, saying that about myself seems...odd. I am terribly sarcastic. I am stubborn and strong willed, but I am a nurturer. I take care of those I love and defend them with everything I have. I own way too many books, and I have a love for vintage Pyrex dishes and Twinings English Breakfast tea.
I'm not one to frequent bars or any other places like them where you might meet someone. That's just not who I am. I suppose that's why I'm here. I work full time and seem to be constantly on the go. I spend time with the people I love and have an amazing life. But as my sweet sister pointed out, I don't exactly put myself out there to meet someone. I'm not sure if this place is for me, but I suppose there's no other way than to try.
As for what I'm looking for, I honestly couldn't give you a text book definition. Conversation. Companionship. Someone who makes me laugh. A kind person who values family and friendships. Maybe just the recognition of a kindred spirit and someone who's looking for the same things out of life that I am.

My friends would describe me as caring, supportive, friendly, outgoing, fun, adventurous, genuine, honest, sincere, & most importantly trustworthy. I know bc I asked them! lol
The things that make me smile are my friends first & foremost, & my family which includes watching my nearly 17 year old daughter dance. She has been dancing since she was 3. I love watching her do something she gets so much fun & joy out of.
The accomplishment that I am most proud of is the way that I have lived my life in the 7 years since my divorce. Of course this requires going into much more detail in person but to sum it up, itРІР‚в„ўs all about what I have gone thru these past 7 years. I went from a woman in a marriage of nearly 25 years who didnРІР‚в„ўt have to work, to suddenly having to go to work to support myself & my then 10 year old daughter. I need to state here that if you are looking for a financially well off woman you can just pass me by bc I am not that. However I am rich in other ways. I have learned valuable lessons from life. I am a strong, capable woman & I am a survivor. I am every bit as feminine as the next woman. Im just as comfortable in jeans & a t shirt as I can be in a dress & heels. Im not afraid to get my hands dirty either.
I work full time as well as attend school at night full time where I am now in my second year towards obtaining a degree in office administration. I do not look for a handout nor do I expect one. I am my own person & am proud of where I am & what it took to get me here.

I am grateful for my friends & family. They say that friends are the family that you choose for yourself & if that be the case I have chosen well. I have the best friends & could not have made it as far as I have without their love & support.
Recently I was able to move into a brand new modern apartment & I am grateful for that opportunity as well. Life is not about the big things but rather about the small steps you take on your way to bigger & better things.
The type of person I am hoping to attract is not so much about the “attracting” part, as it is the “being led in the right direction & at the right time” part. I believe that God has a special someone for each of us. I believe that if you have blind faith, & are patient, God will lead each of us in the direction we need to go in, so that we find that “right” person for us. Once you find that person, & have the kind of love that I am looking for, everything else will fall into place & you will have everything you are searching for in a mate & more.
My social life?? lol ummm….what is that ? LOL I have spent the last 7 years of my life being the best mother that I could be. I played taxi mom! I look at it this way……I have the rest of my life to find a companion for me but only a short time to raise my daughter before she leaves home. Also I didn’t want to complicate her life or mine by bringing someone into our lives before either she or I were ready. When she turned 16 this past year the time came. She is now gone more than she is home & I find myself home alone nights I don’t have school or weekends she doesn’t have dance competitions. I feel I did the right thing for us at the time & I have no regrets. However its been very lonely at times.
The things I am most passionate about are of course my children, my friends, & traveling. I love to visit new places, see & learn new things & meet interesting people.
I am just your average woman in her early 50's but I feel more like I am in my early 40's. There is still alot of life in me & I want to spend that time now with someone.
I have been on my own a long time, & have gotten very used to being alone. I have come to like time to myself. I believe everyone should have time to theirselves.
