My Christian faith is central to the way I interpret life, which means that there is alot of life to be enjoyed! I am definitely energized by being around people and love relating with my friends and being close to them. Although, if I have a partner, I can be content just being with him and do not need people around all the time. I am in this life for the long haul and seek to stay healthy as much as is practical. Cooking and developing new healthy recipes is a hobby, although I used to do it for a living. I love getting in the kitchen and spending the evening listening to music, cooking, sharing wine,etc...you get it!
Cycling and other exercising including running, swimming, yoga, etc...are very important to me just because it makes me feel so good. I train as a triathlete but don't compete as one. Many of my friends are triathletes as well. I exercise most days of the week but do not necesarily need for my partner to do the same. I love to travel and have been overseas...Italy, Greece, Israel, Switzerland, Paris (it really is romantic), Scotland, Ireland. Beaches and the warmth of sunshine are a MUST on a semi-regular basis. I love Sanibel Island, beaches of Charleston and the Emerald Coast.
I have been divorced for about 3 years after a 24-year marriage but can say I have few regrets. I am very grateful for my 3 grown sons with whom I have a wonderful relationship. Any children of my partner would certainly be accepted and loved by me. I grew up in the Atlanta area and have 2 sisters and parents still living there. I try to visit often and my family would be very accepting of most anyone I would bring home. I am an Auburn grad, but have 2 of my three sons at Univ of Alabama (how did that happen?), so I guess you would say I have a house divided.
I'm pretty easy to please and to get along with so I will tell you my opinion without alot of drama or competiton. Life is too short for game-playing...honesty is always the best policy. I am not looking for a certain list of things to mark off in someone except for, I guess, the obvious like trustworthiness, willing to communicate, no drug abuse, romantic (a real must!), sense of humor (I love this quality!)
