I am a mom first and foremost. I have three beautiful children, ages 21, 18 and 13. I share custody, so they are away from home 3 days one week and four the next. This allows me time to pursue my career and date (although, I haven't done much of that lately).
I am employed at a local special purpose government as the Accounting Manager. I supervise four accountants and I love my job. I get to travel some as part of my job, and that has been a nice perk. I recently studied and passed my Certified Government Financial Manager exams. This was part of my long term career goals. Step one! Ask me about my plan!
I enjoy going to my local cheers, having a few margaritas, dancing, singing (don't get excited, I am not that good....just fun).
I love the summer time and going to the beach. I enjoy hanging out with my daughter and her friends because I feel like a teenager again (and who doesn't like that feeling). My sis lives in Lake Lanier, GA and I love going to her house because it's like being on vacation. I am closest to myself when I am there..she is my hero.
In the fall, I love SEC football and cooking hotwings for the games! On Saturdays, my TV is always on a game. Being a numbers fanatic, I enjoy keeping track of the scores and stats and who is going to the SEC and the BCS.
My parents died when I was younger, so I am not faced with the responsibilities that many of you have at our age (taking care of elderly parents). Don't get me wrong, I would trade places with you any day!
If what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, Then I am one strong lady. I have been faced with my share of lifes mishaps, heartaches, heartbreaks, broken promises and letdowns. But I don't stay down! I will throw the small things away. Handle the bigger things as quickly as possible, and get on to the GOOD STUFF! Life is too short. JUST DANCE!
