Date men and women from Alabama, United States. I've lived a lot, and experienced a lot, so this is a bit of a challenge for me in that writing is not my strong suit. See how I validated my poor writing with that run on sentence.
I am passionate about life. When I give my word, I follow through. When I make a commitment I take it seriously.
I am not sure if I am naturally romantic, but I try to be. I am kind, and I am loyal, very loyal.
I love comedy, but hate a laugh track. Seinfeld from the past, The Office and Modern Family. They all make me laugh.
I love football but it doesn't control my life... but I am sad when football season is over. And when I check the yoga box, its very specific for me - Bikram, nothing matches it.
So, that's a first shot - seems pretty cheesy... plus I better get some more photos up but I'm usually the one taking the pictures so that might be a challenge.
And I guess I need to grow three inches because it seems every one wants to go out with someone 5'-10" or taller. I might actually be 5'-7 1/2" and if I lean forward on my toes I might get to 5'-8". Oh well.
Meet a man from Alabama, United States. I am a happy, active, independent, easygoing, mature male who would like to find a female companion to experience good times with and to make lifetime memories. I am soft-spoken, don't have much drama in my life, like most people that I meet, but I tend to avoid loud or angry people. I have 5 kids; my youngest is a second year CU student. I am also a grandpa. I have been divorced for 6 years, after 3 years of separation(I dreaded all that paperwork).
I grew up in a small Midwestern town, have nine years of college and love to learn new things. Commercials, advertising and junk mail drive me nuts. I need reading glasses, am a little hard of hearing and the view from the top indicates that some fur is missing. I do enjoy most kinds of music. Among the dislikes are bagpipes and barbershop quartets. I'm also not a country music fan. I don't have any tattoos or piercing but I do have fillings in some teeth and a few scars. I like to expend my nervous energy by biking, running, skiing, lifting or boarding. I also try to eat a healthy diet. I don't own a motorised boat or bike. The motorcycle days are in the past, where they belong. What is with the fixation so many women have with Harleys? Give me a break! If I can't carry it then it's too big and too much of a hassle. I do have a good friend with a speed boat who pulls me around the Boulder reservoir, though.
I love the outdoors, no matter what the weather. Camping in the rain can be fun with the right person;). I prefer camping in a tent rather than a camper or trailer because they are also too big and too much of a hassle. I know I sound lazy but I try to keep it simple.
I have a very successful professional life and really enjoy my work. I solve technical problems and rarely interact with customers or the public as part of my job. I am a bit on the introverted side but can still function quite well in social gatherings, especially after a few drinks..
I can't really pinpoint the type of women I am looking for. You are each so different. Some important qualities for me are that you are happy, fit, independent, educated, punctual, stay informed of current events, don't sleep until noon, aren't bossy. You should also live within about a 20 mile radius of me.
I'm not looking for a fling. At my age, the end of the next fling is old age. I'm really looking for that love of my life that I can grow old with and live happily ever after. Too much to ask maybe but it is possible. Match.com is not for the lazy, that's for sure. If you have become cynical then don't bother me; it's not my thing. If you are unemployed, are living with your mother or are just digging for gold, look elsewhere. Please.
Let's face it, by this stage in our lives we have each had our own unique experiences, including relationships with the opposite sex, and have developed our own character. It is almost too much to expect to find someone that is a perfect match. Heck, if we are doing this online dating thing then we are pathetic losers and deserve each other.
Between us there is around a century of living. It is impossible for us to distill our lives and who we are into a few paragraphs. Chatting on the phone to someone whose appearance is only known through a few grainy photographs doesn't seem like a good way to see if there is a connection. The only way for each of us to really know if we've found the right one is to meet in person. The profile and grainy photos should weed out those that we know are a waste of time.
Date single man from Alabama, United States. Looking for that special lady who live and enjoys life, and also wants someone to experience and enjoy life with. A lady that takes care of her business 9 to 5, but takes times for her health, family, friends, and enjoy the world around her. Having a good sense of humor, being compassionate, being spiritual makes things go a lot smoother. Looking for a lady that comfortable with herself, willing to share her world, and introduce me to new things. If you have a bit of fire in the spirit is a plus.
As for me, I'm the kind guy who is enjoys the uncomplicated side of life. I enjoy having a good workout, hanging out with friends, listening to music (R&B, old school, blues, jazz, rock), enjoying good food (cooking at home, bbq, or good restaurant it's all good), working in the garage then go cruisin in my car and checking out sports (l like sports but I'm not a fanatic). I want to learn new things, explore new places, travel (local, national and international). I like to play (of course), I try to keep my word, I treat people like I want to be treated, I stand by my values (this ain't easy sometimes) and sometimes i'm not too PC. I enjoy hangin' at home watching movie & eating pizza (but I can't found any good pizza) or dressing up and heading to downtown Denver for something.
Life is short, so spend time with family & friends, enjoy good food & drink & music, and do things that bring smiles to your face.
If something is new it does not mean it's better and if something is old it does not mean it's an antique.
Balance in all things
Also I response to contact with pictures only, that way both of us are on equal footing
Meet a soulmate from Alabama, United States. I am a complicated person -- but in a good way!
I have a wide range of interests and hobbies that pull me in different directions. I have a young, beautiful son. He continually reminds me how wonderous the world is and that joy can appear unexpectedly.
I am now starting a new life in CO after 20 years in DC. I'm looking for a slower pace of life and more time with my son.
I love the outdoors -- I love to hike, camp, ski, and (when I can find companions) backpacking. But, I also just like hanging out -- sitting on my patio, watching th
e stars, talking with friends, reading in front of a roaring fire.
I also have a strong intellectual side, and I'm curious about most everything. I read a lot (books, newspapers, the New Yorker); I watch tons of movies (no TV or cable). I'm somewhat introverted, and yet also fairly social -- I like having friends over for dinner, and I love to have lively, friendly debates.
I have two cats. They are very cute and very destructive. :-) I love most animals. I grew up on a farm, and I still yearn for wide-open spaces with expansive views. (Think "Green Acres" without the 3-piece suit and the Park Avenue wife!)
Lately, I have been getting back in touch with my artistic side. I've been taking photos and trying to write short stories. My biggest passion is woodworking (furniture and art objects). I just finished renovating an old house in DC, and I will likely be looking for a new project in CO. I took some acting classes a few years ago, and I fantasize about getting back into community theatre.
It's hard to describe the woman that I'd like to meet, since she could possess a wide range of qualities. But, what I appreciate most is intelligence, honesty, integrity, openness, passion and a good sense of humor.
