Date a soulmate from Alabama, United States. OK, I know my picture looks like a 64 year old gray-haired retiree, but in my mind, I'm a 29 year old, fun-loving, outdoorsy best friend. (Also, I somehow thought I was a lot better looking than these photos.) Well, what is a girl to do??
OK, where to begin....I have been a widow for almost 3 years. My husband was in the defense industry and we lived in the Washington, D.C. area for many years before retiring and moving south. I was a Medical Administrator. I raised two beautiful daughters who are both music teachers! My youngest lives in Arlington, Virginia and is expecting her first, and my first grandchild!, so I will be visiting in Northern Virginia quite a lot.
I have the wisdom gained from a life well-lived while still appreciating life's hilarious ironies. I am healthy, active and outgoing while also enjoying my quiet times alone at home. I love the outdoors and tending to my plants and pets, taking my Doberman on great walks, walking the nature trails in the woods behind my house or just meditating on my deck. Some days I am a shy flower, some days a proud lioness. Almost daily, I marvel at my good fortune and incredible luck in having been born in the middle of the 20th century in the United States of America to professional parents who understood the value of discipline, education and the importance of family. Out of all the humans ever born, how and why did I get so lucky?!
I would enjoy meeting someone who would appreciate and respect an intelligent companion and enjoy great conversation, is affectionate and has great self-confidence. I am easy to get along with and I would enjoy someone who can laugh at themselves and doesn't take life too seriously.
I love to spend the morning reading the paper, drinking coffee and watching the "Today Show" (gotta love retirement!) and doing the daily crossword and sudoku. Seeing all the latest movies is one of my favorite activities. I am most comfortable in old jeans, but I love to dress up for a special performance or other occasion. I am proud of the life I have built for myself and would love to have the opportunity to get to know a congenial and worldly companion.
