Date men and women from United States / Arkansas / Oakland, 36 year old - page 2

Date someone special from United States. I'm an East Coast transplant originally from Harlem, NY; which for all you West Coasters means...I'm a total pizza snob! I moved to LA right out of college and made my way to the Bay Area about 4 years ago. I am an Executive Assistant/Event Planner at a small Technology company, currently working towards two certificates; one in Web Development the other in Web Design. The right side of my brain craves an outlet so I'm up for anything artistic and creative like taking an art class, going to see a play, or to the museum and occasionally when inspiration hits I write, these days it's mostly poetry but I'd like to get back into writing fiction. I will admit however that I am not much of a music person. Let's just say that the first and last concert I went to was New Edition and no not the revival tour. And when it comes to movies I prefer two completely different genres. I'm either watching a romantic-comedy like Knocked Up or a horror/thriller, Midnight Meat Train is my current favorite.
I'm a pretty laid back individual and on most days I'm in jeans, a t-shirt and Keds. I love word puzzles, especially Jumble and CodeWords but I'm passionate about books and I'll just come right out and say it; Barnes and Noble is my happy place. I'll give any recommended book a read, but I mostly read fiction. My favorites are by Jodi Picoult and Lisa Scottoline, because I find fiction based on controversial events thought provoking.
To answer my own tagline question, if I could choose any actress to play me in the movie of my life, it would be Sanaa Lathan. Like me she's lived in NY and LA, majored in English, has a Theater background, works in the Entertainment Industry (past tense for me) and isn't afraid to try "Something New". How about you; who would play you in the movie of your life?
When it comes to my ideal partner; I'm looking for just that, a partner and a friend to share my life with. Someone who is as interested in my day as I am in theirs. Someone who wants to curl up on the couch and watch a movie one day but is adventurous enough to explore new areas of the city with me or try something new like climbing a rock wall, or travel to a foreign country. He would, like me, be honest, loyal and dependable and is someone who knows what he wants and goes after it. And of course, he should like to have a good time, laughter is the best medicine there is. If this sounds like you, email me.

Meet a woman from United States. Independent, health-conscious artist/entrepreneur (textile business working with international artisans)/massage therapist seeking partner for adventure, laughter, and creative greatness (Sunday morning breakfasts, impromptu home improvement projects, exotic travel...). Grew up in Santa Rosa, lived in NJ/NYC/ Ithaca, NY for 8 years, have traveled extensively in Europe, lived in Paris for a year. I moved to SF in June '09 after 2 years in W. Sonoma County, and have now been in North Oakland for a year.
Looking for compassion, light-heartedness, depth, and feeling at home with someone who appreciates art/music/culture, has a city-smart/broader view of life and the world, loves nature, yearns for community, wants to grow as a person and never stop learning. Fantastic if you like to dance!
An online personality test described my traits (pretty accurately) as: Sees the big picture, Imaginative, Intuitive, Strong verbal skills, Empathetic, Trusting, Introspective, Creative, Flexible, Curious...
and that I'm looking for: "a mate who is daring, playful and adventurous, yet one who will balance [me]- someone who is calm, decisive, strong-willed, focused and supportive of [my] enthusiastic, caring and imaginative spirit." Sounds great!
I'm all for meeting in person right off the bat! Coffee or a glass of wine and a walk?

Date men and women from United States. I've always thought I would be the first of my friends to get married and have kids, but I guess life is unpredictable sometimes. After being in several long committed relationships, I find myself coping with the single life & not liking it too much. Going out to lounges/bars with friends may be fun, but not an ideal place to meet someone I would consider spending the rest of my life with.
My friends have met great people via online dating (one recently got married to someone she met on match.com) and encouraged me to give it a try. The notion of online dating, while scary, allows me to filter someone to my liking & that's really appealing to me. So here I am! I'm really hoping to find that special someone to enjoy the simple things in life with: cuddling, sunsets, movie nights at home with a glass of wine, picnics, scenic drives to nowhere, traveling, trying out new food/restaurants.....
I simply love being in love.

Meet a soulmate from United States. I'm a very active gal who loves mind-expanding experiences. I love learning about cultures around the world, still fantasize about being an astronaut, and find this universe to a very curious place. Spirituality is a big part of my life- that includes meditation and yoga on a regular basis.
I'm spontaneous but also yearn for structure. I run my own business (film/video production) and love it! Being an entrepreneur is challenging, but the 9-5 lifestyle is not for me. Documentaries are my big passion. I can be high energy when I'm focused on a particular project, but am always striving for work/life balance. Helping others as much as possible is not a platitude- it's a mission I try to fulfill.
I'm in love with the outdoors, dancing, seeing great films, exploring foreign places, drinking hordes of chai tea, and going to live shows (mostly indie and punk rock). I also enjoy riding my bike to the Farmer's market, meditating, doing yoga, and crafty projects.
It would be great if you appreciate everything DIY (if you need to look up the meaning of DIY- we're not a good match). Some future DIY projects we could conquer include: Kombucha, a miniature terrarium, and [insert your idea here].
I'm vegetarian- it's a personal choice that I don't push on anyone.
I'm pretty obsessed with all things design-related. If I wasn't into film, I'd probably pursue a career as an interior designer or, better yet, a Feng Shui consultant. Everything is energy!
I'm interested in meeting a great guy who can be a life partner/best friend. My ideal partner is equally in love with his life, challenges me because he's constantly challenging himself, is creative, has some kind of spiritual practice, adventurous, funny, probably somewhat nerdy/quirky. I'm interested in someone who takes an active role in fulfilling their deepest wishes. Someone who is smart, spiritual, strives for life balance, compassionate, adventurous, funny, and finds it easy to have a good time no matter what environment they are in. A traveller, a dancer, a music lover, a creator, a dreamer. Of course, I'm open to meeting new friends too. I would love to live by the beach one day- hrmm, Hawaii, anyone?
I value maturity, authenticity/honesty, mutual respect, and clear communication in relationships.
p.s. If you don't have a photo, please don't expect a response. Also, please be within my age range. I prefer emails over winks.

Date people from United States. I’m good hearted, have a sense of humor, very passionate (a little spicy, I guess it’s the Latin in me, haha!) and affectionate. I’m looking to meet someone that I connect with on a deeper level and who can reciprocate. No expectations – whether I make a new friend, something more, or not. I believe every relationship starts with friendship then we'll see what happens, no pressure, who knows, it just might lead to more ;-).
I have a very strong work ethic, thanks to my wonderful parents. I come from a very traditional Latin family. I try to balance hard working weekdays with weekend adventure and /or relaxation. I enjoy family time and every once in a while a fun night in town with friends. The only way to truly get to know me…is talking to me, meeting me, so don’t be shy
