Turn ons - likes: chocolate (dark), weekends, dinner out, cool movie on a big TV, New York (in Spring, Fall or Winter - not Summer), the Golden Gate Bridge and its environs, exercise (well, sort of), Skype, calls from my son at college when he doesn’t want something (well, I assume that would feel good - haven’t really experienced it yet), doing rugged manly things (can you say “keywords”), sailing (not much recently, but I did it for a living for a while), the Met (not the opera house), the Deyuong on a rainy day, pretty much anything with good company, “under construction . . .”
Turn offs - dislikes: first dates that feel like job interviews, crowded movie theaters, that guy in the pickup who cut me off this morning, frequent flyer programs that never really give you a chance to upgrade, people with limp fishy handshakes, lack of punctuation in e-mails, falling for someone who goes and moves back to China, “under construction . . .”
I experimented with a number of careers: navigator, school teacher, lawyer, finance-geek, sailing instructor. I finally settled on lawyer. Stuck with that for a long time now. My next career will be handing out towels on a beach in Fiji.
BTW - I'm not into camping, which apparently eliminates about 90% of the women on this site. :-) Give me a firm bed and a hot shower. OK, well if you really want too . . . . .

I also have a diversity of interests having had the opportunity to travel, study and work internationally (Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America). I particularly enjoy traveling in the third world so that I can still try to find the unspoiled beauty of the planet and also have the fun of stepping into another culture. (last trip was to Fiji.) I moved to SoCal in the 80s and moved to the Bay Area a few years ago to join my friend in private practice. Like many of us in CA, I enjoy the outdoors and play tennis, golf, hike, bike, blade, enjoy camping and am up for most activities (OK, no bungee). I also appreciate cultural activities and regularly go out to the theater (large and small), to hear live music and other events. I can also be a homebody and enjoy practicing a little blues harp, reading in front of the fireplace, working on a home project (refinishing my oak desk), cooking a Thai curry (as spicy as you like) or just sitting on the balcony and watching the people (and the birds) by the lake where I live.
A few other tidbits: I have taught meditation, remodeled houses, studied shamanism, worked in a large corporation, published in sleep disorders medicine,ridden horses in the mountains of Honduras, enjoy caramel apples and Michigan apple cider, still want to improve my Salsa skills…and appreciate sharing the journey with a woman who is culturally aware with a spiritual and intellectual curiosity. A woman who tries for balance in her work life and personal life, enjoys being physically active and appreciates romance and humor.
