I like to think of myself as a Renaissance Man, since I dabble in anything and everything---traveling, writing, museums, festivals, camping, reading, cycling, music, skiing, movies, the outdoors, photography, sea kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, canoeing, learning new skills, motorcycling, hiking, and much more. Basically, I am just insatiably curious about the world.

I think in a previous life I must have been an explorer. Many years ago I set off to Europe to see the world! Heading out with just a backpack, a train pass, a couple of guide books, and no planned itinerary, I had no clue what lie ahead on an uncharted path. What I discovered is that the world is full of wonderful people, cultures, and endless adventures. I did not want to stop.
Since then, the travel bug has never left me. I have discovered many wonderful places in the interim. So inspired, several years ago I spent months winding up and down nearly every back road in Colorado gathering up information for my first guide book. Now in its fourth edition and ninth printing, I contemplate writing more books as an excuse to explore more exciting destinations.
Most importantly, I'm looking for someone who is looking for a long term lasting relationship, is smart enough to latch onto it when it's available, and is willing to work on it. This takes time and energy, and I would hope you would want to cultivate it into something very special. I am not looking for the eternal dater who is always looking for the perfect man of the week.
