I can be kind of goofy at times and I tend to laugh at the simple things. Sometimes when watching a funny movie, I need to see it a couple of times because I miss too much laughing, you know when you can't breath or see. My big three ethnicities are primaily Italian, German and Irish with a little bit of English, Scottish and Norwegian. I was raised primarily Italian in a German neighborhood. Having the Italian side makes me a big time family oriented person. I make time for mom and dad at least 2x per week and my sister and niece. I don't let petty things bother me, I am nice to everyone and go out of my way to help my friends and neighbors. I am a big time animal lover (I have a dog) and enjoy all furry animals including horses, cows and cats. I am a bit more country than city and would love to design my dream house on about 150 acre horse ranch property. I enjoy the city, but would rather visit than live in the city. Traveling: Taking a cruise, either Windjammer or Carnival are always fun, I have been to Mexico, Canada, Hawaii and all states except Alaska. I would like to go to Western Europe, China, Japan and some South American countries, thst is of course if the world does not end on 12/21/12 (lol).In Colorado I ski, mtn bike, rollerblade, horserback ride, camp, motorcycle and any other activity, but I don't gamble and watch a lot of sports on TV other than the occasional football game, NASCAR or other interesting sport. I love the beach, so I must go to Hawaii or someplace tropical at least once every other year.

so after some trial (and error) i think the simplest way to put it is that i want it 'all' .... why settle for less?
so what does that mean? simple -- someone that is with me even when we're not together, someone that i can spot across a crowded room and get that goofy "yep, she's here with me" feeling, someone that will support me in my aspirations just like i'd support her, someone that knows life will have it's ups and downs and yet nothing will shake us, someone that looks great in a bathing suit, even if it's just to me, and someone that thinks i look good in a bathing suit, and knows i have eyes for her and her alone.
My perfect match ... As i have learned for myself, I am not looking to be married by ___ or move in with anyone anytime soon. Rather, I'm looking to meet someone that is open to see where our path may take us, wherever that may be. If that includes marriage/living together someday, great. If that involves knowing we are together even when we're not together like i mentioned above, that would be great too. It was recently pointed out to me that maybe this sounds like I am just looking for a casual relationship? Quite the contrary, so I hope it doesn't read that way! :) I have found that I'd like to meet someone that is strong (self-reliant), smart, sexy, sassy, and sportive (okay, i really mean 'athletic', but needed a 's' word to complete my 5 S's! :)
Strong (self-reliant) = an independent woman (sorry -- no 'separated' or divorced-for-a-month please).
Smart = I like a quick wit and someone who likes to banter about a bit.
Sexy = sexy is in the eyes of the beholder ...
Sassy = I'd like to meet someone who has just enough sass, and knows it!
Sportive = as I said above, I love to be outdoors, to "do" -- which is even more fun with someone. I consider myself pretty active and would like a partner in crime, so to speak. Not that we have to do everything together all the time, but someone as an equal -- someone who would want to go the gym with me (or maybe just say 'allrighty then -- you have fun with that!" :), ski with me, snowshoe with me, or lay on the couch and watch a movie with me (not very athletic, but you gotta lounge sometime, right?! :). The person I'm looking for does not need to be my training partner, but, again, as i said above -- someone who would cheer for me and support me in my interests, just like I would do for her, whatever those interests may be.
Of course, maybe these are all things that people want, but I'd like to find that equal. Somebody that can be there with me in thick and thin. Someone that makes me say "wow". I hope to find someone who loves life as much as I do and wants the best for themselves and their family.
ps -- to avoid confusion on the whole 'want kids' thing .... at this point in my life i do not want to have more children, but am fine with meeting someone that may already have children.
pps -- to avoid any other confusion -- i have listed french and japanese as languages i speak. as a former girlfriend was kind enough to point out, i do not actually "speak" them, but have had classes/practice with both. not trying to be misleading! ;)

I dont really go out much am mostly dedicated to my kids two are grown with children and my youngest is 14 he lives with his mother but we all spend a great deal of time together. Lived in the mountains for several yrs so I have too many weaknesses and know many superb spots! Get me 15 miles from a paved road in the Sawatch above the trees and I'm way happy!
Depending on season, and of course this involves time.. my preferences would include skiing (X-C and Alpine), mtnbiking, hiking, backpacking. In the summer I'm that guy up on the Colorado Trail above Waterton Canyon right next to my house.
In the Winter I ski often... Earn my turns as well as use chairlifts from both passes....Climbed Nine 14ers last summer... This summer involves dramatically increasing my skinny dipping quota.
If you are not a total outdoor nut, no worries.. I'll give you a chance:) Just be open minded!
I'm also the best dad you will find anywhere, just ask that someone extra special in my life.
