I am told that I am laid-back emotionally yet driven, dedicated but open, have a young face but an old soul, have uncommon virtues with a familiar look and I "clean up well". I always thought it was funny, but I have also been told that “you look like a "roughy" but you’re actually a big teddy”... this is what several Australian girls said to me. I am an Army Reserve Soldier and a former Marine. As a Marine, I was proud to have helped people on humanitarian missions that included digging out from volcanic ash in the Philippines in '91 and fighting to feed people in Somalia in '92-93. My family is from Colorado with my Mother passing away in 2005. Before that I was shuttling back and forth between my Father's and my Uncle's, both of whom died of cancer on Thanksgiving Day in 2003. For this reason it is hard for me to give thanks on that day. Of course putting my life on hold was a priority at that time and thus I was emotionally drained. I have moved on by going back to school and doing what I love as a career. I feel that I have most of my silliness intact (think English humor). However, all of the childhood innocence has left either because of circumstance or age. I'm certainly not a player. I will always try to be respectful even when my true psyche is on display (Aristotle said an evening of wine and song brings this forth). I have a six-pack and don't drink them...I drink a little and live rather healthfully (I'm a military fitness trainer). Physical fitness has allowed me to remain sane, well-balanced and look younger than most of my peers. I am constantly doing more towards achieving a better mental, physical and spiritual me. I still do as much for my extended family as I can because family is important. I think that I have baggage like just about everyone, but it is probably more like an overnight bag not the entire set of Samsonite.
In a lot of ways I am looking for a strong independent woman. My Mom was a strong lady, especially since she was a quadriplegic (a diving accident at the age of 35). I'm not sure if the circumstances had made her that strong or if she was only tested by the circumstances for her strength. But I guess what I truly admired was that she adapted and refocused her energy to make her life positive even when faced with inordinately adverse situations. I think that I look for a little of Mom everywhere... I believe a positive attitude nets you and those around you a more productive life, a moral obligation if you will. I believe in a relationship the two of us are comfortable and truly excited by each other even after passing the "honeymoon" phase. Both of us have goals and inspire each other. We share the same level of dependence or independence. We have trust and are open with each other. We share the love with each other and both of us express it. We also have a passion for each other as well as share a sexual compatibility. I believe that I'm a giver and I try to help at least one person each day. Also I would like for you to hopefully appreciate automobiles as more than a mode of transportation. I do many things involving cars and own many different types, ranging from classic to tuner, trucks and muscle to micro.
