Date single man from Colorado, United States. Based on some of the profiles I have read so far, I kind of feel like I need to start out by saying that I have a good job, don't live with my parents, am not married and am pretty sure I'm not a teenager in an adults body. On behalf of the "guy team", I am amazed that some of "those guys" are out there dating. I don't get how people can be looking to date when they don't have any direction or know what they want in their lives. Just my opinion...
Here is a story that pretty much sums up my personality... I was camping last weekend with a bunch of friends and their kids. We decided to go on a "short" hike with them all. Not a big deal except that the kids decided to bring their bikes. Before we are even a few hundred feet down the trail, kids are falling off their bikes and crying, but for some reason their parents wanted to push on. I was just cruising along on the trail and figured I would just help the kids out. At any given time for the next 4 hours (that's right, 4 hours), I was carrying kids on my shoulders, pushing them on their bikes, handing out water and picking them up off the ground. It could have been a disaster and by the looks on some of the parents faces, it was, but we got back into camp and I told everyone that it was the most entertaining hike I ever have done. I had a smile on my face the whole time and it really put my philosophy of finding something to laugh about to the test.
I have some amazing friends who are close to me and would do just about anything for anyone and I feel the same way about them. A buddy of mine said that friends are the family you get to choose. I agree, but think he stole the saying off one of those plaques you see in an antique shop. I picture it next to the "kiss the cook" plaque.
I also have an almost 4 year old old son. He is without a doubt, my best little buddy. I enjoy all the time that I can spend with him and watching him grow up. I am starting to believe all those people who told me "enjoy it while it lasts. They grow up fast!"
I think I have a pretty flexible and open outlook on things. That makes me come off as easy going. On the other hand, I do have a fairly analytical mind and think a lot about things before making major decisions. What's for dinner does not fall into this category :) Oh yeah, that's the other thing... I like to laugh and I like to make other people laugh. There is so much in our everyday lives that is really funny. I try and appreciate that and break up my day a bit.
I would like to think that I know my way around a kitchen and am a good cook. I also know how to use an iron for more than reheating pizza or making grilled cheese :) I never thought about putting in the domestic type stuff in my description, but I like making a nice meal and it's always tastes a little better when there is someone else there to enjoy it as well.
What am I looking for on this site? In short, something with some substance. By that, I mean that I want to find someone with whom I can have a good conversation and have a good time. Not looking for fake or superficial. You don't need to have your life all figured out, but you should know who you are and be comfortable in your skin. If you can carry on a good conversation and make me laugh, I want to talk to you :)
Things I like to do would be camping, hiking, learning to snowboard, photography, trying a new restaurant, doing my part to support the economy by buying things i "need", road trips, golf, fishing, concerts, cooking and a lot more now that I think about it. I am up for most things at least once or twice. I like trying out new things.
What else to tell? I talk to people all day for a living, but who is ever good at talking themselves up? I am a pretty open guy, so if you want to know more, just ask!
