I'm an environmentalist and a hippie at heart. I have an herb garden, tomato patch and lemon tree, and I love cooking! The outdoors is my home- I feel alive, present and centered when IРІР‚в„ўm outside.
I love to cook. IРІР‚в„ўm not the worst food snob youРІР‚в„ўll find, but IРІР‚в„ўm pretty damn close. Cooking is a way for me to relieve stress. ItРІР‚в„ўs some valuable alone time, but more importantly, it makes me feel truly connected with our planet.
My life goal currently is to do environmental work in Brazil to combine my knowledge of agriculture, coastal ecology, land systems, human societies, economics and urban development that IРІР‚в„ўll hopefully acquire in college to help Brazil maintains a health relationship with the environment as it urbanizes, deals with massive poverty and becomes a new global superpower. My hope is to do this not by providing aid but rather by empowering and giving tools to local communities to find and execute cultural appropriate, local solutions that will best benefit their community.
Random facts about me- I hate bright orange, passionately of course, IРІР‚в„ўve been a volunteer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium for 5 years, my favorite clothing store is Anthropologie, hands down, my favorite thing in the world to make and eat is, despite my vegetarianism, beef ravioli, because my Cia and I used to love to eat them together, my favorite animal is the red phalarope and whenever IРІР‚в„ўm sick I love to watch Sense and Sensibility (the new version), Downtown Abbey or Pride and Prejudice (the old version).
