My step dad lost his battle to skin cancer two years ago and it completely changed my out look on life. I realized you do not know how short life can be so why not live everyday like it could be the last. I am a clean person, not a clean freak though. I guess it has things have to be organized for me to be content. For example, a person's car is a good indicator of a person's hygiene and organization. I keep my car clean, lather the leather weekly and wash it every three weeks. There's no trash in there. In short, its clean and I strive to make myself just as presentable. I believe that if you're going to do something, then do it to the best of your ability.

I have done a lot with my life so far and want to eventually get my doctorate in some sort of conservation either being earth related or animal related, but for right now I am just starting my fourth year as a geology major and I LOVE IT!!! -I am a christian and that is a big part of my life... I go to church twice a week (service and college group) and work with the kids in the children's ministry and sing with the worship team for my college group :)

-I'm a member of Delta Zeta sorority and I love it and my sisters to death

Meet people from California, United States. I like to describe myself as a generally happy individual. I can't say I'm always happy, since that's unrealistic and is completely unbalanced, but for the most part I enjoy life and love how it is going for me so far.
I like to think of myself as an intellectual. I love reading books of all types, especially books that have captivating information inside like The Element or Flow or Mindsets. Otherwise, sit me down with a nice work of fiction and I'm a happy camper. Unfortunately, I don't always as much time to read as I'd like, but I do my best. My next book to tackle is Lord of the Rings for pleasure and The Genius in All of Us, as well as Authentic Happiness, for my research.
I also attend school and love it. I'm taking summer school classes mostly for the hell of it and partly because I want to take as many psychology classes I can this year before I go to grad school next year. I'm taking Social Psychology right now and next session I'm taking Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I'm fascinated already by these subjects, but I'm more interested in the field of Positive Psychology. I did my senior honors project (a nice, short 65 page paper) on the applications of the psychological theory of Flow in education.
I like to think of myself as athletic. I wasn't always so. I've spent much of my life feeling fat and overweight, and especially college I really did become so. For the first time ever, the diet and exercise regime I'm on has actually worked for me (as well as finally being able to accomplish a new years resolution) and I'm down over 35 lbs. I have another 15-25 lbs that I'd like to lose, but what I've done so far has increased my self-esteem in more ways than just my body image. I've fallen in love with working out, especially at the gym pumping iron (I think I may be turning into a gym rat) and I've grown a genuine fondness for running and I'm extremely proud of the 7:45 mile that I ran a month or so ago and the 19:15 2-miler that I did last week for the first time ever.
I think other people describe me as being a cautious individual. I'd like to think this is because I am a realistic individual and I'm not an overoptimistic individual, but it could also be due to the fact that I have been turned down a number of times in my relationships with other people. Learned helplessness, in a way. A teacher I respect and admire very much once called me a wallflower. I was completely shocked when he told me that, but I've been able to show him, once he really got to know me, that I am nothing of the sort. I usually describe myself as being an introvert, but people mistake that for shyness, which I am not, so I avoid saying that.
I'm a very relaxed individual, to the point of people thinking I smoke weed. I am rarely stressed out. I don't drink coffee or energy drinks to perk me up. I am very much a morning person, and usually my afternoons are my low points of the day when I sometimes feel the need for a nap if I find myself home during those times. I enjoy relaxing activities such as cuddling on the couch with a movie or cooking dinner with a loved one or simply reading a book. I am slightly OCD in that I love things being organized and I routinely will have reorganization sprees in various areas of my life. I like lists a lot, and checking off to-do items is a simple little pleasure in life. I would not want to live life without my computers and cell phone. I have two cats that I named after long-dead composers.
