Date men from United States / California / Big Bear Lake, 75 year old

Date single man from United States. You probably picture a professor as a stuffy, bespectacled, pompous dude standing in front of a chalk-filled blackboard lecturing to a glassy-eyed captive audience on a very uninteresting subject. Allow me to disabuse you of that stereotype image. For starters, I have my feet on the ground and not high up in the ivory tower. I think of myself as much a student as a teacher. I have always believed in the notion that education should begin in infancy and go on forever. In the university I find my greatest joy comes from interaction with students and colleagues. I learn from them, I am inspired by them, I laugh with them and sometimes cry with them. The university is a great forum for learning from one another, a place where everyone is encouraged to be adventuresome, take calculated risks, try something new, and build bridges to other people and to new ideas.
Now retired, I think of the college setting as a kind of metaphor for life beyond the campus. Now I live in the mountains of Southern California, in a community, much larger than the university that offers all the opportunities for having a fulfilling life of fun and learning. I love the natural world all about me?€”the lake and the forest with its tapestry of wild flowers in the spring and wildlife year round. And I love the human community as well. It?€™s a place that encourages friendship, where people care about people, where learning more about our world continues unabated. Whether I?€™m kayaking on the lake, hiking in the forest, pedaling along the bike paths, or engaging in volunteer work in town, I still feel like the student I was in college, only now the whole world is my campus, beckoning me to explore. .
In my fondest dreams I fall in love with and marry that very special woman who loves me and shares these values. But let?€™s face it; at the heart of the matter, I confess I?€™m more of an idealist than I am a realist. Like Don Quijote, the man from La Mancha, I ?€œdream the impossible dream.?€? And how about you? Could you be that special woman and I your special man? Let?€™s give it a try!
