Hmm.. well, first, I'm a patriot. A veteran of two conflicts, I've spent a lot of my time in uniform. I'm 100% red-blooded American.
I left the military after several years, because I wanted to settle down in one place and I got tired of multiple deployments. Now, I'm proud of my service. Yes, I am. But I was at the end of my enlistment, and it was just time for me to go.
I've spent the last few years pursuing my version of the American dream. I've become a total geek. My work, most of my life, and my energy is spent on databases, keenly scripted recursion procedures, sharply designed user interfaces, and a knack for retrieving data out of a turnip. It's just my “thing.” I dig it, and I do it well. I spend hours working on the perfect algorithm, to achieve the exact result required, and it gives me satisfaction. So I might be a bit simple, but it's my thing, and I like it. If I could script a woman as easily as I could design a web page or a stored procedure, well, I wouldn't be here, and you wouldn't be reading this.
Now, after all that, let's do full disclosure. I'm not the boy I was 20 years ago. I've gotten lazy. I don't work out these days, and I would call myself lazy or, at least, unmotivated. I've put on a few, but I'm not lumpy good-year man, at least not yet. I suppose I need to get back to the gym, but then again, it's been hard to find the motivation or a reason.
As you can see, I have a rather dry sense of humor, so you probably should have one, too. I'm a little crusty, but at the same time, I could debate you on capitalism vs. socialism. I do not have any letters behind my name, but I am literate and capable of intelligent thought; I know how to properly use a semi-colon.
