Date men and women from Arizona, United States. "You're not a risk taker." That was my evaluation in elementary school by one of my teachers. It pursued me until life saw fit to put that school 3000 miles in the rear view mirror.
I won't deny that I'm comfortable with who I am and what I want to do. I'm cool like a cat (I'm a Leo, naturally), but there are times you just have to leave your warm, comfortable patch of sunshine and explore your surroundings. Don't lump me in with the dogs, though; I don't run around in packs and come home with fleas. I also don't hand out my trust like it's going out of style, though once I give it to someone, it's carved into stone.
Nobody ever confused me with the class clown, but I do have an oddball sense of humor. I "collect" lawyer jokes and I love puns. Though I'm a storyteller by trade in the courtroom, I don't ever feel the need to dominate the conversation or be the focal point of the event.
But this whole "risk taker" thing? If it really is the case that I'm not a "risk taker," I'd never have gone to law school, moved from Orange County to Scottsdale, or run for political office. By the way, speaking in front of hundreds of people is quite an adventure (and let me tell you, that whole "imagine the audience is in their underwear" trick really doesn't work when you're the youngest person in the room by thirty years!). Even though my name was on the ballot and I was a candidate for office, I was never a "politician." I won't be feeding you lines and empty "campaign promises," and the only "pork" I like is the kind on my plate.
It's true, I don't really like to roll the dice (honestly, I prefer poker and blackjack). I'm not going to hop out of a perfectly good airplane with nothing more than a parachute and a prayer. When the time comes, however, I'll be there to take a leap of faith. I'm looking for someone who is willing to make that jump with me.

I originally grew up in upstate NY and came out to AZ to go to school. No, I'm not one of those people from NY who are loud and obnoxious, kind of the opposite. I must say, the weather did play a major role in me coming out here. I don't miss to much about NY, accept some of the people and food, but more on that later. I now live in Scottsdale, and let me tell you, it's not the real world here. Things seem very fake to me here and not real, everything is for show and everyone is trying to always one-up the next person. I was always just taught to be yourself, not try and be someone for someone else. I'm more of a laid back person when it comes to the night scene. A night on the couch with a movie fits me fine or a nice quiet little place to eat dinner. The clubs/bars are okay, I'll get my fill about once every month or two, but I'm not the guy who will be wearing the scottsdale uniform….you know, the black shoes, the jeans, stripped shirt with half my chest showing (hair gel optional, but highly recommended). I've been to hawaii each of the past two years now. I absolutely love everything about it, the beaches, views, people, food and music. I also love to eat. I'm in great shape, but nothing beats some good italian food or a good steak. Oh yeah, and an Oregano's poozokie to top it off. All in all, I'm kind of shy in the beginning but just a nice guy that's not trying to be anything but himself.
