Kidding a bit here, but also revealing a foremost characteristic of mine and that is to be fairly direct. That said, I AM feeling extremely hesitant…but here goes…
Besides myself being straightforward, I also appreciate honesty and knowing oneself, in others too. I usually strive to be laid back...and sometimes I succeed! I donРІР‚в„ўt like to get into many hurried habits, and try to give myself some quiet space to slow things down if needed. I find that I really enjoy many simple things in life (hiking, biking, cooking, reading, a good cuppa joe) and i tend to be very present and appreciate what i'm doing at that moment.
Speaking of obligations, my greatest one, to which I'm extremely grateful for, is to my kids who are 12 and 13. Although they are getting to that age where they often like to do their own thing alone or with friends, I still take advantage of planning times when we can be together.

I try not to be too serious and feel that somehow as we grow up we tend to get that way, so I often try to head in the opposite direction. I'm usually pretty upbeat and look at the positive side of things. That doesn't mean I'll stick my head in the sand about issues that come up that seem very negative, but if I can't help with the problem, I don't give it much space in my day. I think I'm considerate of others (trying to be kinder to myself as well!) and usually try to give them the benefit of the doubt. I hope to find this deference in someone else, that is a tendency to not be too critical of others.
I’ve always enjoyed learning new things or exploring new areas of thought and asking questions like, “why have they always done it that way?” and “should we do it different?” In general I think what I enjoy musing over the most is �why do people/societies/kids (etc.) do the things they do?’ I’m not a Chatty Cathy by any means, but I do enjoy engaging in thoughtful discussions. I’m usually open-minded, although it might take a bit of time to wrap my mind around certain ideas and I tend to see both sides of most situations. I’m glad of this, but at the same time, that means I can be slow or thoughtful in making decisions.
I think I'm in a good space right now and look forward to meeting others (or one "other"...I'll definitely take a "one person at a time" approach), but honestly, I'm a bit apprehensive as well. I've been in nearly a twenty year relationship...it's been a long time since I've dated others so....lots to be nervous and excited about and i think that's pretty normal. I feel it's hard to really tell what someone's like from their profile (but I do get a kick out of reading some!). Probably meeting a time or two, is a better gauge as to how well you're "Matched."
