Date women from United States / Alabama / Scottsboro, 56 year old

Date a soulmate from Alabama, United States. I retired from my career at an early age. Had also been married a long time but began to realize I wasn't in a happy state of mind so I took steps to become responsible for my own happiness and I've stopped looking for someone to blame other than myself when I was stuck in a funk. So far I am happy with my decisions, but I do get lonely for a partner to share some special moments in my life.
I would like to find someone who has a lot of things in common with me. Too many people in my past that I had more friction from just seemed to be polar opposites. I understand opposites attract but I have found the magnetized field slowly loses its pull and eventually the opposites drift away.Hopefully, I will work on writing more so it might be easier to find if we do have activities, background, education, morals, thoughts, and dreams in common.
After a few weeks of thinking about this, I have posted one picture and am ready to write a little more:
I think my friends would call me a positive, fun loving, northern born but southern raised girl who only wants someone to appreciate and respect her. I would add that I am searching for that special man who can show love and kindness every day and in return receives the same thing. I enjoy finding the good in everyone and everything. I marvel everyday at the things in nature that are put there to make us stop and smile. Things from puppies to the way a leaf is floating on top of a puddle to the way the sun shines through the tree branches can make me slow down and enjoy life.
Music plays another important role in my life along with nature. I am not blessed with any musical ability other than the ability to enjoy it and understand its many roles as soothing agent, motivator, mood setter, and energy booster. If anyone wants to go to a concert or a small town bar with an unknown band, I"m your date.
Other areas we would have to have in common would be your love for children, animals, books, and education. You must believe there is a higher power, believe in manners, and kindness to strangers. And of course, do not jump on the bandwagon about government, politics, or our country's recession. So you wonder then what can we talk about? How about movies, art, or YOU!
