My membership expired March 15 of 2012, so this past year has been enlightening, to say the least. My aikido training has taught me to be centered in conflict, which has been most useful in sorting out recent decisions in my life. Aikido is a deadly martial art that is also the art of peace and harmony. Not your usual martial stuff. The training also creates a sensitivity to others. It's about connectedness and universal energy in partnership.
Some history...
I was married for 15 years after being single and independent for 21 years. I am separated from this self-absorbed man but didn't divorce him for financial reasons, and the love is gone as I see him pursuing women to control. Yes, his violation of vows and trust makes me wary of trusting again, but I would rather be with someone than alone.
On religion, I'm a Secular Humanist. Spiritual, yes, but not into religious dogma.
I am most comfortable in jeans and low-maintenance living. I love my organic garden, chickens and sheep. Back to the lander? Perhaps. I'm no radical survivalist though, just practical, hard working, and happy.
