Date men and women from Alabama, United States. I'm an intelligent woman that wants to enjoy life with that special someone. I have a pretty good sense of humor and I've been told a great smile. I'm 46, but I'm lucky enough to look 30-ish - good genes, I guess. I've never been married and no there's nothing wrong with me LOL!! Unfortunately haven't met the right man at the right time -timing is everything as they say. I love to travel, explore and try new things. I enjoy pretty much anything involving water. I'm a certified diver and marine scientist so salt water is a huge favorite. The problem is that its no fun doing those alone. I'd also like to meet someone to just do nothing with - you know what I mean? Sharing the paper and a pot of coffee on Sunday morning is just as appealing to me as catching a plane to Mexico. I'm a pretty low maintenance woman - yes, you read that correctly. I know, I know you've heard that before but its true and I can provide references if necessary. I'm a scientist by trade so basically a big nerd, but a fun nerd. I do love the outdoors, beach, boats and the whole bit. Shorts, tee shirt and flip flops are my favorite outfit - but hey what girl doesn't like to get all dressed up every once and while. And be warned I do love shoes, as most women do.
I do not have children but I do love children - I teach them 5 days a week. If you have children, fantastic and I understand that your children come first, that's how it should be.
What am I looking for in a man? Well isn't that the million dollar question. I'd like to meet someone that makes me laugh and laughs at my corny jokes. A man who wants to make my bad days good and my good days even better. And I'd like to offer that to someone. I can't lie, I am a hopeless romantic. I guess that's why I've never gotten married, I'm still looking for the guy who "gets me", not forgetting that timing thing I mentioned earlier.
In a nutshell, I'm a simple woman with simple needs - to be happy,with someone special. And, if that doesn't happen then life will still be good, maybe just not as good as it would be shared with someone, but at least I'll have more closet space for my shoes (laugh here). Although I am very outgoing, social and involved in the community I like to keep my personal life as private as possible. So, I’d rather not post my innermost thoughts and feelings or any deep dark secrets (not that there are any!) on here. I only share those things with people I know and trust. And, I don't know you—YET!
So, about me......I’ve been single for a number of years so, by default, I’ve become a fairly strong, independent woman who is used to taking care of and making decisions for herself—and I’m pretty proud of that. I’m definitely not the needy type. I want to be treated as an equal. When I commit to something or someone I’m all in—110%. I am loyal, sometimes, to a fault.
What else? I love to entertain. I am an accomplished cook and I sometimes cater but, I REALLY appreciate it when someone cooks for me! I like to create and work with my hands so I always have projects going like landscaping my yard, decorating, gardening, event planning, etc. I built and planted my first "urban" vegetable garden this Spring and am eagerly awaiting the fruits of my labor!
I am actively involved in the community and have held a number of leadership positions. I believe in giving back and doing my part. Plus, I really enjoy it. I find the prospect of making a difference invigorating and exciting.
