I have one child (son) who is 15 years old. In three years he will be graduating from high school and heading off to college. THEN, "MAMA WILL BE FREE TO MOVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD". It will be just me to enjoy the love of my life. I grew up in a small Alabama town for 21 years and moved to Birmingham which is the city for 24 years. In those 24 years, I got married (8 years), had a child and have been divorced for 13 12 years. I moved back to the country a year ago so my son could attend my alumni school. It was a beautiful decision for us but I have had to re-adjust to the country living. It is super spooky quite down here. LOL! A thunderstorm came thru one evening and knocked the lights off. We called Alabama Power to report the outage. They said they should have the lights back on in about two hours. I was cool with two hours because it was just starting to get dark. (Now, my son is in Birmingham(which is two hours away) with his dad for the summer so I am home alone for June and July.) I was down the road at my brother and sister-in-law house when the storm charged thru our community. After the entire ruckus, I hurried home to get my candles out and strategically placed them in the house. I was ok with it getting dark for an hour or two because the power company said two hours. MY LIGHTS WERE OFF FOR TEN HOURS. PITCH BLACK DARK!! The only thing glowing outside my windows were the eyes of the cats, dogs, deers, deers everywhere, BIG FOOT??? I am in the country wood of Alabama folks. I am a country girl but the city spoiled me. LOL!!! Laugh if you want too but when you get to a certain level of scared you can visualize anything. I was terrified!! LOL! In the city, my light hardly ever went out. I think it was because I lived so close to downtown Birmingham. The University of Alabama Hospital was just one exit from my house so I believe it had something to do with it. I don't know why they hardly went off in 24 years but it spoiled me. When those light stayed off for three, four, OH MY GOD, five six, Jason from Friday the 13th and Freddy Krueger are going to get me, seven, eight, I am getting tired, DAYLIGHT WHERE ARE YOU, torture, nine, I fell asleep. When I woke up it was daylight. WHEW! I made it. I called my sister-in-law and she informed me that they came on the tenth hour. AMAZING!!! I must figure this light situation out because I remember as a child how the light would go out when the ice storms and bad weather came our way. BIG ADJUSTMENT!!! LOL!!
The wonderful thing about the country is that my son can go four-wheeling with my brother and others. He can ride his bike, go walking and I do not have to worry about him. I cannot say that at all about living in Birmingham, Al. There is a reason Birmingham is on the show "First 48 Hours". My son has chosen to attend The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Al which is the home of Nick Saban. That was for all the college football fanatics out there. I do not watch football but football is a BIG thing in Alabama. I probably will attend some of those games once my son attends college in Tuscaloosa.
I make fabulous silk flower arrangements and even launched a website a year ago. I have been making silk arrangements for 23 years. It is very peaceful to me.
I have had a dream of moving to Destin, Florida for such a long time. It has been on my heart, mind and soul since my son was ten years old. I would love to find my soul mate that has the same vision so we can share some dreams together.
