I've been 2000 feet underground in the middle of the dessert. Italy is on my Bucket List. All in all, love living in Northern California and being born in Montery...it's a good fit.

I'm a fairly laid back, optimistic and easy going individual. I think my sense of humor is one of my strongest points. I'm not good at telling jokes but I usually see the brighter side of situations and try to find humor in everyday life. That's not to say that I can't be serious when need be. When I meet people I try and "assume positive intent," a phrase I learned long ago and it's served me well. I'm pretty sure most of my friends would tell you that I'm very kind and considerate towards those that I meet. I'm a good listener and would love to hear what you have to say and I can carry on a good conversation from my own end. Within the past two years I have retired and gotten divorced and now I am ready to start a new phase of my life. Recently I moved back to Fairfield after living in Southern California for 25 years. I'm getting re-acquainted with a couple of old friends and trying to meet new ones.
I miss the idea of marriage and hope to be there again someday. I know I'm not meant to be alone and I believe I have a lot to offer someone. Frankly, I'm not sure I have ever had a "soul-mate" and that is the one thing that drives me now. But in order to get to that status I believe it's imperative that we become best friends first. I love to hug, kiss, walk hand in hand and when I see that in others I want that for myself.
I had a most challenging career and miss it a lot but the time came where I had to give it up. I am not ready for the pasture so I am pursuing other avenues. Fortunately I am in a position where I don't have to work but I want to in order to keep active and alive. In the meantime I'm going back to school and trying my hand at volunteer work at the library.
As far as some of the "Interests" listed: I love movies but tend not to see the blockbuster types that come out every week that appeal to the younger crowds. I lean more to movies that make me think or are true drama and yet some of my favorites are comedy classics. Growing up in the Air Force, we moved around a lot so I do like to travel but don't do it a heck of a lot now. Maybe that will change soon ;-) Have spent several years in England, born there and have relatives there. Love photography and take my camera most places. Love the Dodgers and welcome debates with Giant fans. Love Liverpool soccer. Love the Beatles and most 60s, 70s and 80s music rock/pop. Can't cook much so out of necessity I enjoy dining out about once a week.
