I love learning new things that can take life in unexpected directions. Life is an adventure. People who are bored, baffle me.
My life has pretty much been a study in contrasts. I have worked with my hands, run my own companies and had a very serious involvement in the arts for many years.
A substantial amount of my time is spent outdoors, hiking, skiing, camping (mostly trailer type, nothing like a shower and clean sheets after hiking). While I do love the outdoors, I am also comfortable in professional settings. I clean up well. Originally from the East coast, and having lived in Europe, I do miss overcoats, umbrellas and a beautiful woman on my arm. I sometimes feel like I lived back in the era of Cary Grant and Fred Astaire when romance was "in" as opposed to the hookup era we are living through.
What am I looking for in a woman?
Smart, funny, sexy, adventurous, creative, independent. They say Cleopatra was not a beautiful woman, but rather, she was brilliant and seduced men with her voice and conversation. I can believe that. I guess I am looking for Cleopatra.
After reading the above section I thought I should add to it. I am basically looking for a couple of things. I have reached the point in life where I want to find the greatest love of my life. I figure that I have gained wisdom about what is important and yet still have passion and the physical ability to enjoy life to its' fullest. I love brilliant women and have spent my life surrounded by them, consequently I want someone with a great mind and passion for what she does so that I can learn from her. That's what makes me a smart guy. I do love the kind of woman who is comfortable in a wide array of situations, and makes people around her feel relaxed. A beautiful, physically fit woman who prefers healthy eating and a minimum of tv; I might as well be honest here, that I really do not care about sports. Since I have moved all my life I never had a "team". I would go to a live event and even host a Super Bowl Party, but that's about it.
I am also looking for a dance partner, which may or may not be my love, but I have to make this clear. While I have been a contractor and pilot for years, I always kept a second career going that involved dance; for many years all over the country with ballet companies as well as casino shows and more in Nevada. The Argentine Tango has been my passion for the last dozen years. I teach and perform and am in need of a partner. If it should turn out to be my love , that would be the greatest of all! And do not think that is out of the quesiton. With passion and some natural talent it would be quite possible. But it is not necessary. In any relationship I have, we will dance, but it would not have to be a more than a social level.

I’m thankful for the lessons I’ve been given over the years, for my kids and what I’ve learned from and by them, from all the friends and family who’ve been there for me at various phases and stages. I was raised in the country, love to travel the back roads of America meeting the folks you’ll never see on TV, still value the values we learned from those great old TV shows—Roy Rogers, Sky King, My Friend Flicka, Lassie to name a few—we grew up on.
I’m hoping to find someone to have fun with, to learn with and from, to honor and be honored by, to let me know with kindness when I’m heading down the wrong track, to continue to inspire me with their thoughts and choices and wisdom over time. You’ll care about your health and how you look, but spending more than a bit of time in front of the mirror just to go shopping at the local store for a quart of milk is probably not a good thing. Sitting anesthetized in front of the TV is definitely not cool. Do you spend more than a few minutes a day on Facebook or other social media? Hmmmm—if so, we could have an issue. And the self-deception thing here (online)---it’s rampant with people posting pictures of themselves that are years out of date, pictures that show someone in much better shape than really exists. I have no time for that---please don’t bother to respond if you’re not completely truthful with how you’ve presented yourself in the description process here. And one last thing—I have no time for people owned by their weaknesses. If you have a substance abuse issue (and that includes food, booze, pot, or pills by the way), please do us both a favor and get help—I’ll give you moral support and encouragement from the sidelines.
I’ve worked hard across my life, put myself through college, worked in construction for years while acquiring two licenses (still do for fun and family projects), can fix about anything (other than a broken heart), am an environmental consultant with my own business, write for attorneys on land use cases, and yet can and do regularly trade the boots and backhoe for a suit and tie til I can escape the big city and get back to reality again on the 300 acre cattle ranch here in the country. Are you possibly made of the same sort of stuff?
What’s missing from my life is simple math….still trying to find the right person to show that one plus one makes so much more than two. Write if you think you have the formula!
