I admit, I am sometimes shy and more of an observer but then sometimes you can't shut me up either. I'm a finance professional with two grown children which means I work hard by day but can now have fun and relax at night. Since I sit in front of a computer all day, I try to eat healthy, exercise regularly and take good care of myself but it's very tough. That's why exercising and physical activity is a priority for as long as I can but really if I could sit in front of the TV all day, I would. I also love to travel and short getaways are the best. I think, with age, I have become more selective about who I spend my time with - contrary to my choices when I was in my 20"s and 30's. On the other hand, I remember some very good times and they continue to bring a smile to my face even now.
I have a high energy level - go to bed late and get up early; always feel that sleeping too much is a waste of precious time. An occassional afternoon nap? Yep - one of the nicest things about being retired. I'll be 65 in September, but the mind is still young...but then isn't 65 still young? I'm also an estate sale/garage sale junkie and love the "trash to treasure" challenge. I love gardening, the gym, decorating-on-a-dime, nature walks, movies, concerts and watching ducks fly in V-formation (I really do).
FYI: I don't have any grandchildren - my eldest son didn't want to have children (I'm very sad about that); my youngest son isn't married, but I am hopeful that he has at least one before I am too old to bend over and pick it up. If you have grandchildren to share, that would be a definite plus!
