Date men and women from United States / Colorado / Golden, 33 year old

Date someone special from Golden, United States. I grew up in Sacramento and went to college in San Diego. While living and working in Houston I got really involved with international sustainable development work and traveled a lot to El Salvador. After 5 years in Houston I began a scholarship program where I studied a Master's in Renewable Energy in Kathmandu, Nepal. (Most of my photos are from Nepal since I've been living there for the past two and a half years.)
Now I'm pursuing a Ph.D. at Colorado School of Mines and living in Golden. Now that I'm back in the USA, I'm looking to start dating again and hopefully I'll meet the right woman for me (and I'll be the right man for her too).
I've lived in quite a few places and met lots of people along the way. From what I've seen and experienced, standard of living is created by the things around you but quality of life is created by yourself and the people around you. I'm looking for someone who is upbeat and adventurous. Someone who can always see the silver lining in the cloud and someone who can initiate actions to make the future better, even when the present isn't so great.
I guess I have plenty of preferences when it comes to women, but none of them are deal breakers. If the two of us enjoy each other's company, everything else is inconsequential.

Meet single man from Golden, United States. I'm a very outgoing and caring person. I like volunteering as much as possible. I like helping people all around me. I work at a construction company that I started 13 years ago out of high school, and love it. My job has made it possible for me to help others in building things they need but cant afford it and financially help in all kinds of other ways. I love to travel, sometimes just heading to the airport and go somewere for the weekend with no plans. I'm a little old fashion. Im a Christian man and looking for someone who is as well. Im looking for a girl who loves to help people around her. Im looking for a girl who is strong willed and has strong family and moral values, and loves to laugh as much as possible.

Date a man from Golden, United States. Born outside Pittsburgh. But digging Colorado for the past 8 years.
Short and sweet, just hoping to meet a lovely gal who is up for exploring and havin' some good times. I tend not to put too many restrictions on the types people I hang out with, but I suppose I am looking for someone who is passionate about life, learning and experiencing new things. And I definitely love to treat a lady with class...style, romance and respect.
I've always been of the mind that a life with variety is the best kind of spice. I lived in Switzerland for a while with a great opportunity to explore many corners of Europe, from moonlit swimming off the Mediterranean coast to the northern lights in the Arctic Circle. I loved working as a sous-chef in Pittsburgh for a few years. And have had the fortune to travel extensively in Nepal and India, for both pleasure and work, yeah, one of those Peace Corps type outfits. Always up for the next adventure...
So at present, I find myself in working as a consulting engineer and in graduate school here in Golden. Love what I am doing, though personal passions lie in the more abstract...cooking, music and languages. I fully intend to re-engage my culinary styles in some professional capacity, although I love cooking for friends and family. I'm a pretty strong violinist/fiddle player and am fluent in French, not bi-lingual.
I do my best to stay active running, hiking, skiing and snowboarding...Traveling abroad has always been a life priority, but I'm also a local mountain fanatic. I used to take ski trips out west with my family when I was young. Now living so close year round, makes me feel like every weekend is a vacation. Though I certainly enjoy the city night life, live music and cocktailing with friends.

Meet people from Golden, United States. When I have time, I plan to write a real profile but I will put a few brief things down in the meantime. I attached many photos to help show my love for the outdoors since that has and always will be a big part of my life. I have always managed to find (and will continue to do so) a balance of career with the flexibility to pursue my outdoor hobbies. I am currently a grad student at Colorado School of Mines (graduate student in engineering) and also working as a teaching assistant. People tend to stereo-type when I tell them I'm an engineer but aside from enjoying the work I do and the science side of engineering, I don't seem to have any of the typical traits of an engineer. I can and will fix things but I'm not a tinkerer and don't make a hobby of fixing things that are broke. I like to own things that work so I can spend my free time doing more fun things - like being in the mountains :). I do, however, believe it is important to believe in whatever I do for work and my graduate focus on energy is where I believe I can make the biggest difference. I can elaborate in the future, it's only that most find it surprising when I tell them what I see in the world.
I grew up and went to college in Ohio. With a few visits to the west (including a summer stint working at Oregon State University) during my college years and prior, after finishing my undergraduate in electrical engineering and physics, I moved to Idaho and worked for 5.5 years on the Idaho National Laboratory. I had a great job in Idaho, lots of great friends and had a blast pursuing my outdoor interests but living in Idaho Falls was not the long term city for me. I left Idaho Falls to work for GT Solar (now GT Advanced Technologies) in Missoula Montana. Working for GT, I got to travel the world (Germany, China, S. Korea, Russia, Japan). I loved Missoula and liked my job but eventually the travel got tiring and a traveling job made it difficult to settle down and pursue serious relationships. After my near 3 years in Missoula, I recently (August) made the move to Golden, CO to pursue a graduate degree in engineering. Colorado has been great so far. I've had the chance to quickly meet people to go kayaking with on the weekends but being new to the area, I still do not have a great network of people. At this point in my life, I am not looking to casually date. I've dated a lot and I know what I'm looking for (I don't mean that I have a punch list, just saying that I know what kind of relationship that I want). Basically, I believe the person you spend the rest of your life with should be your best friend. A few other things about me are that I'm very easy going and seem to pretty much get along with about almost everyone regardless of how different we are. I'm adventurous and like trying new things (seems like I'm always trying new things, I didn't start kayaking until after college). I love dancing but am terrible. I'd really like to learn to country swing dance because it's so much fun. I enjoy going out to a nice dinner or cooking a nice dinner with my date. Provided I've had the opportunity to have an active and healthy week, I enjoy sitting back to watch a movie.
If you would like to grab a beer or coffee sometime, send me a message.
